I must still be not-quite-sober from the weekend but I like it...really strong, it must be a first that I feel a subject on a fashion cover is ready to kill me!

I can smell a racism controversy coming in regards to this cover though...

it’s a powerful image and very poignant. I’m super curious to see the rest of this edition as he’s curating it (all).

First reaction is a “what the…” but you after the initial shock Im kind of intrigued … I don’t mind when i-D gets artsy. I mean Tank Girl was on the cover.

↑ Don't judge a book by its covers, my lovely people! In contrary to the cover, which seems a bit rough and scary to say the least, this ed is exceptionally beautiful and kinda poetic.

The Balenciaga edit by Pavarotti is lovely, if not a bit similar to the VP/Fendi one in Alt's final issue.

I flicked through the issue today. It seems principally dedicated to black creatives (but not only) and so you have mainly portraits - actually shot by an impressive line-up: Sorrenti, I&V, Roversi and Knight among them. Many of the profiles are sectioned off by black content pages, so the whole issue has quite a strong direction compared to some of the recent i-Ds under McKimm. The only other main fashion edit is one with Anok Yai, can't remember the photographer.

That Pavarrotti's edit reminds me to the Paolo Roversi's work back in the 90's with this background style & the cover is horrerous looks like a videogames propaganda.

Anyone who has ever seen a work by Arthur Jafa must be a little disappointed at the editorials posted because they are not nearly as intense and moving and socio-critical as expected.

But that aside, the Pavarotti editorial is truly stunning and must be one of the editorial highlights of the year for me, even if Vogue was not sharing content.

I almost want to buy this to read what else is in there, and I never buy fashion magazines. If anyone has the issue, I would be curious to know more about the content.
