We were dropped off at our friend Patty’s job (the airport) to meet up with her after work so we can head out together to Sunset Mall. Unfortunately for us, my friend Janet and I, we were expected to wait for almost two hours. Little did we know that Ian and Paul were just getting to Miami. We noticed there were two flights coming in from Atlanta at noon and decided to test our luck. I only had my Vampire Diaries: The Return: Shadow Souls book with me and Janet had happened to bring the new Cosmopolitan magazine (with Katy Perry on the cover) which has 5 pages of Ian Somerhalder hotness! I ran to the nearest magazine outlet and bought myself a copy and headed out to the gate. I went to throw something away and as I walked back, I see Janet jumping up and down in excitement all while she whispered, “He’s here, he’s here, Ian’s here!”
I turned to look and stood frozen. We both didn’t say anything; we just stood there and stared. I guess we were in shock and even though we were hoping to get a glimpse of him, it all felt surreal. Finally my brain decided to function and I called out his name.
IAN IS FREAKIN AMAZING! He was so nice and cool, very friendly and approachable. He seemed happy to see us, we asked for autographs and pictures and he was very kind to give them to us. I got my book signed twice, the removable cover for our friend Patty and the inside of the book for myself. He asked me for my name and then told me it was beautiful and that was definitely a swoon moment for me lol. I noticed that his voice was different from what we hear on TV but he said it was due to him being sick for a while now.
Janet and I took a picture each (sorry for the bad quality, one’s from my iPhone and my camera is more for recording than taking pictures.) We told him we were Team Damon and he was really happy to hear that. My friend asked Ian where Paul was and he told us he was coming “now” the flight after his. He hugged us goodbye and as he left, he turned around, took off his sunglasses and thanked us again for coming to see him, then blew us kisses. Yep that was definitely another swoon moment lol.
Right after he left, we seriously started calling everyone! I called my friends, I tweeted about wanting to talk to Jessica so I can fan girl (freak out) with her; I pretty much dialed everyone in my phone book lol. I really wanted to tweet the two pictures I had taken with my phone but decided to wait and post them on here for Vampire Stalkers. We didn’t have to wait long for Paul to come, about 15 minutes.Our friend Patty had decided to take an hour long break to join us. She brought her TVD Awakening book and we traded. I gave her Ian’s autograph cover and I got the Awakening book for Paul to sign. Janet was explaining to Patty how she spotted Ian amongst all the people coming out of their gate. She started with this example, “Well you see that guy right there? Look how he’s dressed, he sticks out: Black jeans and hoodie with sunglasses covering his face and his hood on top.” Then she stops and realizes that the person she was describing was Paul. I couldn’t really tell and I was doubtful but then she said, “Nooo, it is him. That’s his walk.” I had no idea Paul Wesley has a signature walk but apparently he does lol.
This time I didn’t hesitate and I walked right up to him. I asked, “Hi, are you Paul Wesley?” This is really cute. He stopped, turned both way and said “Uh, Yeaahh.” I guess he really wasn’t expecting any fans there. I asked for a picture and an autograph and even though he was late for the Mall event, (his flight was delayed) he was sweet enough to stop for us. He apologized for looking like the “Unabomber” lol and I thanked him for coming to Miami, telling him no one ever comes here. He was surprised to hear that but then I added that no one cool or at least no one I like comes down here for fan events, which is true. We thanked him for our pictures and autographs and then he left. We later saw both Ian and Paul at the hot topic autograph signing. Janet and her sister were lucky enough to get a kiss on their hands from Ian. I asked Ian if he was going to do his Damon Dance for us and jokingly he said no. But little did he know that I was asked what question I would like to ask the our guest and yep, I asked for the Damon Dance!
