What do you think are the "iconic" or classic pieces of make up, that will always be popular to matter what the trends?

Sorry if theres a thread already like this :flower:

I definately agree with all of the above. I also think long, thick, dark lashes are as well.

Also what do you think are the iconic products?

^ Nars Orgasm blush will have to go down as one.. though it's a newcomer (to the icon world anyway)!
Does Maybelline Great Lash count?

The bronzed "glow" ala the 70s... and now perfected via various fashion houses and celebs :flower:

^I agree with you on both of those definately. I also think the Chanel Black Satin nail polish is also perhaps iconic now, even though its only recently its become really popular

As far as basic items themselves I would say that:

- Pink lipgloss
- Red nailpolish
- Peach blush
- Black Mascara
- Black liquid liner

Are all iconic items that will always be very popular and known. As for products.

- Nars Orgasm
- MAC Twig
- Shu Uemura eyelash curler
- Benefit Benetint
- Lancome Definicils
- Smith's Rosebud Salve
- Chanel Vamp nailpolish

Are all products that have achieved cult beauty status and will probably always be incredibly popular.

^ So what is MAC Twig? I wear MAC and have no idea ... :innocent:

PS Perhaps YSL Touche Eclat ...

^MAC Twig is a lipstick. It's a brownish-pink color.

Thanks ... I can't give you karma right now or I would :flower: Huh ... I am just mystified. I guess it's a color that doesn't look good on me. I do wear O, which I know is one of their bestsellers ...

PS Maybe more of a cult favorite, but I seem to hear a lot about Ruby Woo ...

Can I state the obvious? Dramatic red lips and simple eyes with a good amount (not too much!) of mascara, radiant clear skin. Beautiful and classic glamour.

Also, subtle lips with a slight light sheen and dark, smoky eyes.

I don't think either of those two will ever go out of style.

for a timeless perfume, I think it'd have to be Chanel No.5!! It dates all the way back to 1921!!

Maybelline Long Lash Mascara (or something like that) is still quite iconic, isnt it? :)

I would definitely say YSL Touche Eclat belongs in the 'new' iconic makeup list - since it was lauched it's remained a top seller, and makeup artist favourite.
