Ok everyone, I really want to put together my own fashion website. I'd like to do some articles and features, but I haven't put together a cohesive idea yet.

Is there anything that you all look for in a fashion website that would be beneficial for me to put online? I wouldn't be selling anything, it would be purely informative.

Any ideas/comments/feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Personnally, I love pictures. Runway trends are always fun to look at, and a little info on the trends would be fun.

I really like lists. So lists should be a must (ex.: what's over, what's hot, what to wear NOW, top ten designers of the moment, top ten new designers....).

I also like to see pics of "normal" peoples with their quotes on different topics related to fashion.

I too love early trend spotting, but seeing it worked into the average person's wardobe.
I always enjoy the "Must have/It" lists especially in handbags and jewelry.
I like reading about the "gossip/changes" at the labels in regards to designers. Bios are good also for the new hires at the labels.
Oh! and I love seeing what people are wearing/hot in other states...
Oh another thing I saw once and found extremely helpful (since many shop online) was sizing by label. Meaning if I'm a DKNY 6, that would make me a BCBG 4. It's also a great idea regarding shoes.
Great idea! Best of luck with it! :flower:

trend spotting and rising designers profiles/collections are my fave topics, they can be inspiring

good luck with your site

I love street-style photo galleries and profiles on up-and-coming designers and experimental stuff.
You may throw in an interview with celebs ... I'd go for socialites... great stories!
And amazing off-the-record dish!

That's such a good idea!!!!! Why can't designers all just stick to a certain standard? So annoying...

TFS should have its own chart.

I'm working on a fashion-history site, myself.

But for contemporary fashion, I love photos of ordinary people off the street who have interesting styles.

Wow thanks so much for the brainstorming session! And thanks Lena!

Hopefully I'll be able to pull this off.

We shall see!

Oh - that would be so cool - much needed!!

Hey Guys!
We could start the sizing chart right now - then someone can compile it in an easy to follow graph. My problem is that my weight fluctuates a little. But for those of you that have a more consistent weight/shape, maybe we could start reporting the different sizing by designer.
Ok, I started a new thread in "Shop Till You Drop"

Good pictures of the latest shoe trends....they're so often an afterthought :( . I would kill for in store pictures of Manolo, Louboutin, etc. latest styles. Those of us who live outside NY/LA have to find everything online/in mags.
