Industrial Design

Have you guys seen examples of the furniture form the first White House? Do a search on them, absolutely beautiful pieces of handmade furniture. Wicked *** designs too, things you think people would've been afraid of in the 20th century.

Peter Behrens - Sweet industrial designer, architect and graphics guy.
He did alot of work for AUG, which to my knowledge, is kinda like the austrian GE.

Ok heres a good one,
one of my all time favorite designers;
Carlo Mollino

The guy was a complete quack, but could do anything.
He designed buildings, furniture, cars, planes, apparel, and also did some great photography. He was obsessed with sex, drugs, decoration and i heard taxes too, but i dont know what that means.

In our everyday lives are hidden things that appeal to our sense of fun. We decided to find these things and, using our knowledge of design, create a series of products that encompasses these hidden elements. Despite there being an overflow of items around us, people don't seem to be moved by them in any way. Maybe it's because they're tired of the mundane. they're bored. So we decided to reset everything back to +_0 and start making the kind of things that people really want.

The Product Art Collection
The theme for the first +_0 collection is 'Product Art'. Product Art is a new genre born inevitably from the lifestyle we follow today. Products that are highly reliable, they can be enjoyed in much the same way as art is. The collection consists of products found in our daily lives – household appliances, audio-visual equipment, interior furnishings and household miscellaneous items, but these products are sure to awaken your senses in a way that other products never have before. Product Art, while blending naturally into our lives, takes away commonplace ideas and common sense, and adds something that makes your heart beat faster. Not only the surprise you get when you first see something (First wow!), but also the feeling that suddenly hits you while using that thing; that 'Oh, I see', kind of feeling (Later wow!) await you. That's the beauty of Product Art.

THIS IS A HUMIDIFIER..!!.. :o  :flower:

LOVE the humidifier. Not least because it doubles as a noze cozy!

FunTimeParty, Disstop......beautiful

New Issey Miyake watch series..TO by Tokujin Yoshioka :woot: I want one of these or one from the Vakio 1 series.

The design is extremely minimal. I love the simplicity of it. It's supposed to look as if they only grabbed a lump of metal and shaped it.

Spiffy posts, funtimepartyteam. :flower: I can't stop goggling at Mollino's staircase. All the different colors and intersecting lines -- it's crazy vivid. The trompe d'oeil fireplace is wicked too. I'm going to assume that's a little Virgin Mary sitting in there bc that'd make me giggle, but probably not, oh sigh.

The hoodie chair is a sweet touch, but I'm a little shy of my tendency to love furniture, light bulb flashlights etc that appeals so clearly to my tendency to giggle. I worry my taste is a little too winsome sometimes.

Anyways, great thread as always. I've loved catching up. ^^

funtime, love that arm bag..when i first saw it i thought it was a hand bag
that's what i'd like..a super innovative/ simple purse that looks that you could pick up garbage
