Btw: here's a short interview I found on wienermodels.blogspot.com

Just a very quick translation...

How did you become a model?
I participated in a student exchange program
and went to New York. Somebody asked me on the street if I wouldn't want to become a model.

How did you react?
I was sceptical. But nevertheless I went to some agencies and introduced myself. They were enthusiastic. So six years ago I began modelling. But first I wanted to finish my studies at the FH in Salzburg. It really started after my graduation That was one and a half year ago. I immediately went to New York.

Your career really went of since then. What were your biggest jobs?
The cover for the French Vogue was until now my biggest achievment. I worked with Steven Meisel for the italian Vogue, with David Sims for the French. And I was in some bigger campaigns, among others in that for Balenciaga.

As a model you are very striking, your cheekbones are very distinctive. Is your look in great demand at the moment?
Probably yes. I'm already 24. It's pretty old for a model, there are lot of girls who are only 15 or 16. Maybe they are searching at the moment for models with character.

Do you watch the model shows on TV?
No, I can't stand it. It's nothing but a Punch and Judy show. The version here in the USA is even worse than Germany's Next Topmodel.

Does the image of modeling shown by these shows apply to reality?
It is totally oversubscribed. Shootings, as they are shown in these shows, do hardly exist. I've never done a bikini-shooting in winter.

How glamorous is the modeling life?
Not very much. It's a tough job. Most of the time your're alone in foreign cities, working with people you don't know. You often don't know where you're going to be the next day.

How strong is the pressure to be skinny?
It is very, very strong. Here in New York, the competition is extremely tough. The agencies drill it into you that you have to be thin, otherwise another girl, who has a better figure, will get the job. You cannot really resist this brainwashing.

Do you have problems with your figure?
I'm not the thinnest, especially not compared to a 15 year old. The more curves you have the harder it gets. But thank God I still get enough work.

How long do you think you can pursue this job?
I hope still some time. If not, I'll go back to Austria and look for a regular job. Thankfully I finished my studies.

How much do you earn?
Nowadays you don't make as much money as they did in the nineties, when topmodels like Claudia Schiffer or Naomi Campell got these mind blowing salaries. I make good money, but sadly no fortune. And for the work at the magazines you mostly don't get any money. Often you even have to pay the flight.

She is down to Earth. :crush:
I think Iris never lost her mind.

Thanks for the translation.

Oops sorry, I deleted that post :) Silly question
Anyways, this is amazing news for Iris, no? Considering Ricardo is also dressing another confirmed campaign girl, it could be even better news :brows:

^Wearing Givenchy Haute Couture (sounds fabulous but the dress itself doesn't make me happy)
