what is VK? and since it's 2011 now wouldn't that mean she's in eighth grade? unless it's for college, but I don't think they're really enrolling the class of 2016 right now

99 Apples, in Russia we have basically 2 steps of education: school during 7-17 years, then university till 22. So if Iryna will graduate in 2016, it means now in 2011 she's about to go to the university. Which suggests she's 16 or 17. VK is V Kontakte - russian social network, analog of Facebook.
