Nowadays, looking at everything that is going on in the fashion world, seeing it mostly on social media, in magazines, and in the streets, the freedom to wear whatever you want has grown. People became more confident in expressing themselves however they wanted, which affected big brands and companies, from streetwear to high fashion. But despite it all, I can't help to think that individualism is dying as fast as massive consumerism grows. trends after trends, cores after cores, and a huge wave of social media affect almost everyone. People divide their styles into micro-groups, which is fine. Not that I have a problem, but no one sticks to one thing for more than a few months. Wearing a trendy item is one thing. But making the trend your whole identity, your whole look, is something that I am speaking about now. Clothes are a way of expressing ourselves; in this case, any core trend is connected to a lifestyle. It is not just an item or a look; it is a way of living. ballet core - softness, feminine lifestyle. clean girl - minimalism, cleanness, modernism. mob boss wife, tech wear, and so on and so on. Each comes after another, and one item is switched by another. One lifestyle by another. And it wouldn't be a problem if it were a year's thing...but the lifespan of one core and trend is just a month or so. which makes it a problem in my opinion. trend obsession grows higher and higher, which decreases the realization of personal style in fashion, which makes a mess. Finding a personal style, something that speaks for you, that expresses your personality, who you are, and what you do, is something that each trend and core should bring to us if we follow them. If I buy a bag that is trendy, it should stick with me for at least a few years, if not forever. Individual style is something that comes with years. Individual style requires individual personality, which takes us to another problem in modernism, which is the loss of individualism as a personality, our opinion, and the effect of global and social waves. But I'll finish my thread with my personal opinion that raw and experimental personal style looks way better than a put-together and widely appreciated trend, head to toe. It takes years to master your style. But nowadays I feel as if no one is trying to look for it anymore. What are your thoughts on this topic?
