Could Ivanka Trump be training her own apprentices soon?
Maybe.
On the phone this morning, I asked the Donald’s 26-year-old daughter, who has been a judge on her dad’s reality show for the last two seasons, if she'd like to host her own Apprentice.
“It’s a thought,” she said. “I love doing The Apprentice, because it all sort of ties into what we‘re working on in a real estate capacity. But I don’t want to do television just to do television.”
When I caught up with Trump, she was in New York to host a luncheon for the launch of Callaway Golf’s new line of women’s clubs, Gems. While the endorsement may seem incongruous at first, Trump explained that golf courses are a major part of the resort developments she oversees in places like China, Israel, Abu Dhabi and Qatar, to name a few.
“I grew up with my father sort of whispering in my ear that golf is probably the most important game from a business perspective and as a business tool,” she said. “And I found that to be very true...I’ll have meetings out on the golf course.”
So, who’s the better player—father or daughter?
“I’m going to go with me since he’s not in the room,” she joked. “Seriously, he's actually very good. I have an 18 handicap, but he’s a probably a two or a three."
