I just read about this story at nymag.com. Some of the comments in response to the article were disgusting. I don't pretend to know Izabel personally but to say VS dumped her because of her diva attitude is ridiculous. Izabel always comes across as sweet and genuine in interviews. Everything but a diva.

Unless I've been looking at Izabel through rose tinted glasses all these years....

i believe that Izabel is extremely lovely. she has always come across as nothing but perfectly charming and delightful in interviews. so any rumour of a "diva" attitude i will have to simply dis-believe.

i think the article about the "crying" over the wings has simply mistaken Izabel for Lily Aldridge. it's Lily's first set of wings this year and she mentioned in one of the casting videos how she cried when she got them, how it was such an honour, etc. SO -- since Izabel has already been a contracted VS Angel in the past, and has already worn wings .. and since Lily has said this -- I think it was simply an error by the author of the original article.

either way -- CANNOT WAIT to see Izabel at the VSFS this year! last year, the blue/pink outfit was one of my favourites .. and her pose at the end of the runway, butt out, over the shoulder, hair-held-up-with-one-hand-above-her-head ... *wow*. indescribably hot. best pose of the night, bar none.

Izabel seems like one of the sweetest models around. When a model leaves VS I hate how people jump to conclusions. The gossip rags only say negative things, because that's what will sell their mag. Nice and sweet don't sell or get people talking.

Anyways this has gotta be the best year for Iza! SI,Dolce & Gabbana,Givenchy,return to VS

Thanks for responding! Happy to know I haven't had the wrong image of Izabel in my head.

I'm sure being a VS Angel is a big deal but to me its hardly the be all, end all of modeling. In other words, being an Angel (to me) isn't the pinnacle of success for models. I mean maybe it is for those who are Angels but not for all models. And I wish people wouldn't make stupid assumptions when an Angel decides to give up her wings and try something else. Why would you go from VS to Armani Exchange?. Well why not?! I think Izabel has done an incredible job of staying relevant since leaving VS. That's my really my point in the end. Izabel has hardly dropped off the face of the planet.

couldn't agree more. It definitely isn't the end all be all of modeling, lol. Sure its amazing to work for a huge brand like VS, but its not the only huge brand..In fact it takes up so much time some girls don't get to show their full model potential, imo. I also don't think Steven Meisel and Anna Wintour are gonna jump to their feet to want to meet the pretty girl in the bra and panties set...Its exposure and money, which is awesome for a model! but not much else. Izabel actually seems to be working more and booking more prestigious jobs, since not being a VS angel, lol.

i think some models get really pumped over being 'angels' because it gives them a lot of face/name recognition.

see i thought iza walked from vs... not that they dropped her. i might be wrong. but i thought she wanted to leave because she wanted to to do other things and vs took up so much of her time.

Regarding Izabel appearing in VSFS-she's been there, done that. VS is a great opportunity for lesser known models to obtain mainstream exposure, and she doesn't need that. I really think Izabel will move on to more elegant and exquisite lingerie company.
