J. Crew is really on a roll. Jenna Lyons and Frank Muytjens presented the women's and men's fall 2010 collections on Thursday in New York.

very excited to see this all up close!

have they always had a almost anthropologie look? I feel like I've only noticed them in the past few years, after avoiding the store my parents shop at as long as i could, and i really love their designs and styling but its like a less eclectic anthro to me.

am i the only one who thinks this is ridiculously overstyled?!?...
like...bordering on the ridiculous and silly...

especially in a season that's all about restraint...?

i actually find it annoying in a way...

*not so much the men's ...more the women's...

My eyes...there's too much going on! Those damn messy braids everyone is doing, the chunky bracelets, the geek glasses, and a turban....easy, tiger. These look like nice basic pieces, though...I think...I can't see all of them they are layered in layers of what look like 4 and 5.

Season all about restraint? Hmmm...maybe in the esoteric world of high fashion, on a Celine catwalk. But real people are still going to layer and mix. You've seen Jak and Jil Blog no? Those are industry insiders and restraint is the last word I'd use to describe their dress. J.Crew is pretending to be Celine (not yet anyway) and they know their customer responds to an eclectic downtown look.

Anyways, I think J.Crew is doing an incredible job of making interesting and realistic clothes for their customers. This stuff looks great and considering the other stores in the Mall a J.Crew might neighbor...
