J.Crew S/S 2010

It's nice that we can view the catalog online. I do that because in the UK I obviously don't have access to the catalog (instead they pile up for me in Canada). I keep a lot of them actually for styling inspiration - anyone remember the Lauren Hutton one?

I had been waiting ages for that romper to come out but I'm still unsure. It sucks because I would like to order a swimsuit from them but I'm a bit unsure about sizing and what would look good on me and I can't pay to ship it to Canada and then to the UK only for it to not work out....

^ Yes, the romper is delicious. Why are you unsure, Meg?

Oh, and their swimsuits are divine, as well! I'm always worried about sizing with swimwear... it's definitely a gamble. Shouldn't the swimwear sizing coordinate pretty well with the normal clothing sizing?

I guess the sizing should be similar but because I have quite a curvy frame and I'm never quite sure if I will get the right size. I have taken two different sizes in bottoms before....

As for the romper - I was torn between it and the other swimwear. There were one or two one-pieces of the jersey lomelina (sp?) that I liked as well as the ruffled dots stuff....

They will be world wide on Net-a-porter next month. Kind of exciting..
Hope this hasn't been posted!

what? JCrew on net-a-porter? I feel like I might have heard that vaguely but it makes no sense. I'm guessing it would just be the J.Crew collection stuff...

ETA: Here's an article from FabSugar on it...
This just in! Two of our favorite retailers, J.Crew and Net-A-Porter, are teaming up for the greater fashion good come May. In efforts to go global, J.Crew will be selling its array of casual luxe goodies — which will include exclusive styles and colors made especially for NAP — at the high-end online retailer, reaching buyers from all around the world. “It’s going to be fun,” said J.Crew's CEO, Mickey Drexler. “They present clothes in the most elevated and cool way — more than any site we know.”

Net-A-Porter founder, Natalie Massenet, predicts that the brand will appeal to consumers in the UK, Middle East, and Far East. However, she also noted, “The days of geographical barriers on fashion are over. Consumers are seeing J. Crew in all the fashion magazines mixed in with designer labels." We think the possibilities are endless.

I heard it will be all of J.Crews stuff, minus mens. I think it's really cool. J.Crew represents the high-low mix pretty well. Some of their stuff in their Madison Ave. boutique is super expensive and one-of-a-kind. So who know's. It will be pretty neat, IMO

You know... I didn't realize that the romper was a swimsuit? Silly me!

It's alright - it's kind of confusing because they describe it as a romper and not a 'one piece' like all their other swimwear but the actual description reads like a swimsuit. It's kind of confusing.

^ I think it's a swimsuit you're not supposed to wear in the water.

^ Yeah, really!

Well, whatever it is, it is cute... and is on my wish list. :) It's perfect! Love the rose vines print they have on a few of their items, like this, too:

Did J Crew do a fall 2010 presentation at all? I'd really like to see it.
