J. Lindeberg Men F/W 0607 Milan

The J Lindeberg brand has definetely become a eurotrash must-have. At least in Scandinavia. I would never wear anything with the JL logo stitched on it.

But, that said, and being a swede with plenty of exposure to all the mentioned brands collections. I must say that J Lindeberg beats the crap out of brands like Acne, Filippa K, Whyred and all the others when it comes to pure quality. Better garments, better tailoring, better finnish and better fit.

If you just stay with the minimalistic, basic stuff J. Lindeberg is just excellent. You just have to avoid all the horrific belts, logos and terrible stuff in the J. Lindeberg Sport-series.

i disagree that clothes with details can't be minimal, i think it's the simple cut and the total look that make it minimal, details just refers to the craftmenship and detailing of the clothes, why helmut lang and prada were said to be minimal was because of their simple cut and the minimal matched look but there're many details from their clothes too, of course i am not saying the brand J.Lindeberg is minimal as sometimes they have hardcore logo on the clothes, but some of the pics i posted like the grey suit and the camel cashmere coat are really minimal

Minimalism means slightly different things to different people, and it's OK to disagree. But I'm not sure if we're disagreeing here.

I think minimalism is very closely related to modernism and functionalism. Details on clothes should have a purpose, there has to be a reason for them being there that's not purely ornamental but functional as well. And detailing should be restricted to bare "necessities".

Whyred is a true abomination, the fabrics just look worse than what H&Ms is offering lately, yet their prices are as high as with other swedish brands, how ridiculous is that? I once saw one of their leather jackets and the leather just felt like plastic, I was really surprised they´d call this "leather" because from the touch I would have thought it was vinyl. Ewwwww...

As far as Acne is concerned, I think they are evolving constantly with their collection, they added the footwear which looks very nicely produced and the handbags are nicer quality than Luella. The jerseys almost entirely come from the same mill where Dior Homme is buying their silk-y luxurious jerseys. Finally, their jeans are much nicer cut and executed in better fabrics and washes than Helmut Lang´s, which were about the same price as Acne. The only thing I´d probably stay away from would be the coats and tailored garments, they seem a bit average for the pricetag they are asking for.

Agreed. I´ve always been disturbed by fake-utilitarian details that don´t really follow a function or that are just trompe l´oeill for the sake of decoration.

Maybe the label's harder to find outside the Nordic countries, which might add some exclusivity in other markets, but at least here in Helsinki it's seen as a Scandinavian equalent to D&G and DSquared2...only much cheaper. And there certainly isn't anything minimal about the stuff, which ends up in the stores. The J Lindeberg customers are also very young over here, mostly teens who buy all that Diesel crap or Girbaud denim...

You have to understand that the logoed stuff is from a completely different line. Almost every label does it, unfortunately.

Dior Homme VOTC collection (F/W 04). That's about all I can say about this.

Well ^ said it.. but this is again marking the point of the demise of the whole skinny shrunken rock'n'roll look.. dont get me confused with the casting cos that has defenitely gotten better.. everyones taking out Raf,Cloak,AnnD and Dior Homme..more so Dior i say... The boots on look#5 look like a carbon copy of a pair of Carpe Diem boots.. for a minute i thought they probably used those boots.. serious Cdiem Lovers might agree with me one this..I dunno how to post pics... my point its that the whole Rocker thing is played..its time we moved on

J.L. is especially very popular in Finland, Sweden and Norway. Everyone wears it.. kinda boring !

I own a Canada Goose parka and everyone has that too !
