ButYES! I think Karen is so well-spoken, her "accent" is great. Not too posh, but definitely very elegant and wellspoken! Just great!
BTW, I was watching "What not to wear", do Susanna & Trinny have down-town British accents? Is that the definition of it?

I know the BBC show "what not to wear" - it is very practical & down-to-earth!

I can tell that both Susanna & Trinny have clipped "priveliged" British boarding school accents. They could talk posh if they wanted to - but in order to keep that "common touch" (and not get up everybody's noses!) - they consciously choose not to! Wise move girls!!!

But I must say they both have a really good feel for fashion and I particularly admire Trinny Woodall's sense of style!

bb , yes, i really like Trinny & Susannah's show! I used to watch it every sunday before it got axed! BTW, does a boarding school accent exists? Wow... There are so much accents in the UK.
I remember watching "Mrs Doubtfire" and Pierce Brosnon was saying to Mrs Doubtfire how Mrs. Doubtfire's accent is mixed! I guess it's hard to fake to be british unless you've lived there for a long time, right?
BTW, so are you saying Trinny & Susannah only talk like that for the show? So in real life, they could speak another accent? Wowwwwwww...​

yes it is very important that the girls are seen to be "classless" and "approachable" and not talk down to people!

But this wasn't always the case at the BBC! If you watch the really old B/W BBC programs from the 60s they talked really "poewsch" (posh) - you know like you would if you had a big hot plum in your mouth!

btw a good way to practice talking posh is by saying "WE ARE NOT AMUSED" slowly with pursed lips!

& if you want to look really posh - try drinking your tea with your little finger sticking out! (...but this only works if the cup and saucer are made of fine porcelain!!)
