He always looked so handsome and touchable. Too many cinema actors lack that last quality.

I only half believe that he was itchy. And the itchiness probably stemmed from having to deal with so many shady charecters in the industry. Not an excuse, but still.

I remember this one story a production man told about him. The man said he and a couple others were gathered around during a filming break (on the set of Giant) and they were playing a lasso game. Whoever had the rope had to latch it on to some object or somethign like that. Anyway, one of the men couldn't do it and so all the other guys were laughing at him and giving him a hard time. Later, "Jimmy" as he called him, took him to his trailer and taught him how to do it. The directors and producers were calling Dean back to the set but he wouldn't leave until the man learned how to do it. Finally, the guy got it and managed to lasso the rope correctly. I remember he said it really touched his heart how sweet James was to him.

That's so cool! I too don't really believe he was as surly as some have said that he was. Thanks for sharing that, I hadn't heard that story. :D
 
He was so cute when he was a child! And such a handsome man...
