Well, well. They ignored James for Last King of Scotland and I was quite sure they would do it again with Atonement. For one of the most critically acclaimed actors of his generation he sure doesn't get much in the way of awards, BUT, FINALLY:

The British historical romance "Atonement" led the competition for the Golden Globes with seven nominations Thursday, including best drama and acting honors for Keira Knightley and James McAvoy.

yay!!! Ah it's well well deserved on James's part and i agree, he often gets overlooked, which is a complete shame. Who else is nominated in his category?

yes a tough crowd. Not sure Atonement can really beat a drama, though I of course think James's acting is worthy. I think DDL will prob. get the Oscar for There Will Be Blood (I think it's called....)

Thanks! I just saw Atonement today and James was amazing in it. The whole movie was great, I loved the cinematography and music. He better get an Oscar nomination for it!
