He was completely stunning in Wanted.
He's broken through to the US market.
Im happy for him, he's a cutie

Does all this press coverage diminish James' greatness? Now that everybody knows who he is?!

Did I mention my good friend met him about 2 weeks ago at a party....he wasn't expected to be there, but he showed up. She said he was very attractive, but very very wee.....

^It doesn't diminish his greatness, but don't you just hate it when the somewhat lesser known actor you love becomes super popular?

That Details cover is gorgeous, I might just have to get the issue  He should style is hair like that all the time!

I read he's 5'7" - and if he really is small, that figure could even be slightly exaggerated :(

yeah, she said his beauty came in a very small package  She said he was like my size, and she was exaggerating since i'm 5'2 or 5'3. I would imagine he probably is 5'5 or 5'6 though. Yeah, he looks great on the cover of Details and Arena.

I remember him mentioning in an interview that he was 5'7". He is small compared to other Hollywood leading men but he definitely gets away with it. He's so charming and funny.:P

I actually do think he's a bit shorter than 5'7. He's not that short for an English guy, but my friend wouldn't have mentioned it if it wasn't noticable....

I'm a recently converted total James McAvoy fan. :flower:
My friend and I watched Atonement, Becoming Jane, and Penelope after we went to see Wanted. He is an amazing actor. I watched The Last King of Scotland too. He is so so talented.

I love him! He totally won me over in The Last King of Scotland.
He looks so hot on the cover of Details.

So I'm trying to decide if I should rent Shameless (season 1) or State of Play first? Any suggestions?

I'm just here to share a really cute article. ^_^

Actor James McAvoy was humbled by his trip to Uganda to shoot "The Last King of Scotland," because the poverty he witnessed in the African country made him realize he had nothing to complain about.

The Scottish star was brought up by his maternal grandparents in the rough Drumchapel area of Glasgow after his parents split when he was 7 years old.

McAvoy had long considered himself to have lived a hard life, but once he witnessed first-hand the desperate conditions most Ugandans had to live in, he was more appreciative of his upbringing.

He says, "I used to think that (I had a tough upbringing). I used to have a bit of a working-class chip on my shoulder, because the area I come from is so rough.

"But then I went to Uganda to make the film 'The Last King of Scotland' and I looked around at the poverty there, and I realized that, in relative world terms, I'm actually super-duper, upper-class, through-the-roof posh.

"Any chip I had on my shoulder about Glasgow was insulting to the people who lived in other parts of the world, and it made me completely re-evaluate my place in it."
