1,2,3,4... JAN TAMINIAU
Dutch designer Jan Taminiau recently presented his seventh collection: 1,2,3,4… Taminiau collaborated with stylist Roel Schagen and artist Victor de Bie to create a world of his own, distanced from the fast world of glamour and back to the roots of craftsmanship and coziness. Yet this didn’t mean Taminiau didn’t show his ever present glamorous side. The fantasyful collection showed a beautiful variety of both daytime and nighttime pieces in vibrant red, gold, white, oxidized green, black and earthy tones, which especially excelled when Taminiau showed his true craftsmanship and eye for details. The designer, who comes from a family tradition of antique dealers, decorators and interior designers, explains it refers to the atmosphere of his youth. He combined this traditional chic such as paisley patterns with childish, fairytale elements such as the folded paper hats.
