The venue of Amsterdam International Fashion Week was packed for the darling of Dutch couture: Percy Irausquin. The Aruban fashion designer’s muse for his Fall Winter 2007 prêt-à-porter and atelier collections is Suzy Parker. The 1950’s forerunner of a supermodel who turned into an actress and was known for her full red hair and bone structure. Irausquin says “Suzy Parker stole my heart with her entrance in the movie ‘The best of everything’. She is the reflection of timeless, classic beauty. Her natural elegance and self-will take a central position in this ‘Technicolor’ collection.”
Irausquin revealed a whimsical, playful show with intense use of colors. 1950’s silhouettes had received the ‘Percy-touch’, which made the elegant tweed dresses and suits a worthwhile addition to the modern-day wardrobe.
