Wow I absolutely adore her...and sometimes she speaks too highly about herself, and it makes me question whether or not she is lying. But I later come to find out that she is not.
For example: She talked about a concert she gave at Studio 54 and how there were rose petals falling down when she came out....Im like yeah right ...and I found an image on wireimages that actually does show that

I dislike when people in the fashion world discredit her when they talk about supermodels of the past. As loud and obnoxious as she is, you can not deny her presence in the 70/80's. To me she is more significant than Iman. Her work speaks for itself...she always delivers. So it saddens me that when they name supermodels of the 70/80's its always Iman, Christie Brinkley, Cherryl Tiegs , Jerry Hall. Plz this woman OWNED most of these with a single sitting with Avedon!

Yeah, for the people who've traveled the world of old mags, Janice is the big model in the pack you mentioned. Jerry was preoccupied, Iman didn't get as much work at all and Christie and Cheryl were simply not as high fashion...

She was big but beginning in the early 80s Renee Simonsen, Paulina Porizkova and other beautiful models took over. She never made millions unlike the other models because she never had cosmetic contracts that paid in that league. Carol Alt did a lot of editorial and magazine covers but she also made millions because of the cosmetic contracts, and she lived a healthy lifestyle.

Yeah, but Carol Alt was not high fashion for very long. That said, yeah, Janice never had the really big cosmetics deals. Although she did ads for Maybelline.

^She didn't have any that lasted for years. Many successful models set it up so that they work hard with editorials for 2-6 years, then edge onto long lasting contracts with beauty ads etc. She didn't do that...

^ you're right she worked for those cosmetics companies with a remarkable day rate, but she never had the multi-million dollar contracts.
