I love Pulp and Jarvis Cocker, liked the little cameo in Harry Potter!!
I was wondering if there was a thread on them. Thanks Twilight :flower:

I saw an interview with him recently on BBC4 (I think it was on there, why, I'm not sure) and he was talking about Pulp, about that incident, and that he's working on new material :woot:

A little Bio (might be a bit outdated though) from the BBC website:

The charismatic frontman of pop group Pulp, Cocker’s road to fame and fortune has been a long one.
It took Pulp almost 16 years before they hit the big time with their 1995 album release Different Class.
Suddenly the world could not get enough of Cocker and his band, and a series of hit records was the group’s reward for years of hard work.
Indeed, during that heady period in the mid 90s, signature tunes like Common People and Sorted For E's & Wizz seemed to perfectly represent the mood of an adolescent nation.
Cocker - who was born in Sheffield in 1963 - took to fame like a duck to water, proving a brilliant showman despite an outwardly shy persona.
Infamy was assured when Cocker stormed onto the stage at the 1996 Brit Awards to stage a one-man protest against Michael Jackson.
Although Pulp have since failed to scale the heights of 1995 with two follow-up albums, Cocker - who now lives in London - remains one of pop’s most engaging characters.

Oh, he also has worked as a side project for this band called Relaxed Muscle. They don't sound very Pulp-y but they're worth checking out! :)

Oh my goodness, I love Pulp!
I went to see them at a tiny little concert at Bridlington Spa just after His 'n' Hers came out, and it was absolutely amazing...Jarvis Cocker is so fascinating to watch, total showman!

Then again after Different Class at a much larger gig in Manchester, that was at their height really.

Actually there was a 'making of' program on the other day, showed them going back and explaining how the Common People video was made, was quite interesting.

My favorites have got to be Do You Remember the First Time, and F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E (phew that wasnt the easiest thing to type!

"Pencil Skirt" & "Underwear" are two of the sexiest songs ever! :woot:

THANK YOU for the pic with Chloe! I'm pretty sure they've dated, for a short while anyway.

Underwear is amazinggg.

i LOVE pulp.
different class has got to be one of my favorite records of the 90s.
although my favorite pulp track of all time is razzamatazz.

Disco 2000 makes me feel nostalgic, I remember dancing to that at primary school discos
A few years ago Jarvis appeared on Stars In Their Eyes (British TV show, where people impersonate singers) and he did Rolf Harris it was hilarious and very surreal!
As Rolf Harris (untamedagression.iofm.net)

Babies

Well it happened years ago,
when you lived on Stanhope Road.
We listened to your sister,
when she came home from school,
cos she was two years older,
and she had boys in her room.
We listened outside and heard her.
Alright.
Well that was alright for a while,
but soon I wanted more.
I want to see as well as hear,
and so I hid inside her wardrobe.
And she came round four,
and she was with some kid called David,
from the garage up the road.
I listened outside I heard her.
Alright.

Oh I want to take you home.
I want to give you children.
You might be my girlfriend, yeah.

When I saw you next day,
I really couldn't tell,
cos you might go and tell your mother.
And so you went with Neve,
and Neve was coming on,
and I thought I heard you laughing,
when his Mum and Dad were gone.
I listened outside, I heard you.
Alright.

Oh I want to take you home.
I want to give you children.
You might be my girlfriend, yeah.

Well I guess it couldn't last too long.
I came home one day,
and all her things were gone,
I fell asleep inside.
I never heard her come.
And then she opened up her wardrobe,
and I had to get it on.
Oh, listen
we were on the bed when you came home,
I heard you stop outside the door.
I know you won't believe it's true,
I only went with her 'cos she looks like you.
Oh I want to take you home.
I want to give you children.
You might be my girlfriend, yeah.

~~

they really do have some of the BEST lyrics in the world!! :D

PS: has anyone heard the Nick Cave cover of Disco 2000? It's really great!!

I love Jarvis and Pulp too!
