I was in a bookstore only yesterday looking at his work and wondering why he isn't revered like his contemporaries, like Newton and Klein.

Let's keep this thread alive as testament to his extraordinary ability to capture moments.

Thank you ladies for the support:heart:... For me, his photos are much more interesting than both Newton and Klein, so yes I wonder that to...

definitely a very body conscious photographer...
a lot of these are really lovely, especially the ballet/dancing photos...

i love the way he focuses on women and how they seem to be almos folding in on themselves in some of the photos... like their limbs are almost too lengthy for them to know what to do with...

Aaahhh the derrier! :P ...
and as Sieff puts it himself ...

'All that isn't worth a good pair of buttocks', Renoir used to say when he felt depressed. I share with him this pagan belief that woman was made in God's image!

yes he definitely pays homage to the derrier in particular...

and does quite a good job of it witout making the images vulgar :flower:

hommage au derrière

I don't know why but there's something about his photography which reminds me very much of Newton.

and a campagn for le bourget. source : a fashion magazine, sorry I don't remember the name. By the way, who is the model?

No idea, but I think your two sets of pix show the interesting difference between where the photographer's, and presumably men's, eyes are going and what they're seeing, and what the ads show how a woman would prefer the same sexual attractiveness depicted. Just not quite as obvious as the "male eye". Thanks :flower:
