Melbourne girls next big thing on catwalk
TWO young Melbourne models born on the same day have been declared the next big things by international scouts.
Jena Hall and Claire Collins, both 18, are moving to Paris at the end of the month after catching the eye of agents from the firm that represents supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
The pair, who have been modelling with Melbourne agency Chadwick for two years, captivated recruiters from IMG Models during a talent-finding mission a fortnight ago.
Chadwick director Matthew Anderson said IMG immediately offered contracts.
"They said 'These are our favourite girls we have found in the world', and they wanted them to come now," he said.
Mr Anderson said the girls will boost the ranks of Melbourne models working the catwalks around the world including Annaleise Smith, Andrej Pejic and Jess and Ashley Hart.
"These girls will go off to Paris now, supported by one of the most powerful agencies in the world, and they'll get to go on amazing location shoots in Spain, Italy, and North Africa."
"It's really hard to take in," Claire said.
"Normally everyone goes to Sydney first, but then we have skipped Sydney and are going straight to Paris, where it is all happening."
