^I'm going to have to agree. I'm still saving my judgement until I see Jennifer in action in a trailer, but she's still not my Katniss. It is refreshing that she's an Oscar-nominated actress though, so even if she doesn't look the part...there's a 99.9% chance that her performance will be very convincing. And I hope that poster is fake.

I keep hearing people saying that she doesn't look anything like Katniss. I haven't read the books, but I understand the underlying premise of them. What's Katniss supposed to look like?

^I need to read the books again but if I remember correctly she´s younger than what Jennifer looks like and has darker skin. I always pictured her being smaller than Jen and more agile. But I loved Jennifer´s rawness in Winter´s Bone so imo she´ll do Katniss justice

I found the trailer to be okay. I really prefer the more earthy parts as opposed to the sci-fi parts in the middle. But I thought Jen was great.

She's suppose to have an olive skin tone and dark hair. Actually, a lot of people have remarked that she's suppose to look like she's from Appalachia (which is where District 12, where Katniss is from, is suppose to be located). I guess a lot of people from Appalachia have a olive skin tone. I've talked to some people who've been to Appalachia and they say that a lot of people look like this, they all look similar. Not sure if that's totally true, but it certainly works for the books. A lot of people are upset with how Jennifer looks but personally it's not about looks it's about how she acts. And I think she's nailed down what Katniss is suppose to be like perfectly. I never questioned Jennifer's ability to play Katniss because after seeing Winters Bone I knew she'd be able to play the character right.

Jennifer's acting is top notch so I have no worries over THG, I'm more so concerned with the male leads. A lot of book to screen adaptions don't go the way the book fans want it so it's nothing new but I hope it doesn't disappoint. I think being a brunette looks nice but the blonde always works well.
