Jennifer Lawrence

^That was my fav dress from the couture collections, so intricately beautiful, I would love to see her in it but I doubt she will go with a shorter dress

Has anyone worn these Dior dresses? I would love it if she did

I agree, an atypical dress length would be refreshing. But I can see Zoe asking for a dress like this to be modified into something generic.

I really hope she doesn't wear that yellow dress form the recent HC Dior collection, the one with the sheer panel, like the one at the SAGS but more blatant. It's a great dress but it's a bit too predictable of a choice.

I applaud her for deciding to take a risk. It sounds like she's given it some thought. True, she could opt to be comfortable, but awards time (and premieres) are the best time to experiment. Besides, away from the red carpet her wardrobe is exceedingly relaxed, so one night won't kill her. (I also think the all-bets-that-she'll-probably-win is probably factoring into her decison. She probably wants to make sure it's memorable.)

It sounds like Raf has created something custom for her. Why else would she mention having seen decided between sketches?

I wouldn't want her to wear that particular dior. It would look really good on someone tall like charlize, but I don't think it would do her any favors. Unfortunately, that is the only one that is gownlike that hasn't been worn from the collection. I doubt shell wear a short one, so it looks like thats it.

Jen's not exactly short, though.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a custom gown since at the oscars luncheon she mentioned that she's seen a few sketches.

"we've got some sketches together"

so this means the gown might be custom? I hope so :)

Maybe. With Marion's past two Dior dresses, she's called them "custom" when really, they're like the runway version minus the sleeves of the dress (the SAGs blue/white) or a different color/length (GG's red/orange). Since they've both exhausted many of the options from that collection, and a lot of the dresses look the same or boring, Dior had better whip something good up, like Charlize's pink Dior last year.

Are we even sure it could 100% be Dior? Portman wore Giambattista Valli to the SAGs last year. JL already did Dior twice.

Of course her dress will be costum. I would be surprised if it wasn't.

^^I've been thinking about the differences in the contracts for the Dior girls. It seems like both Marion and Jennifer are required to wear Dior at major events but other girls like Natalie and Mila aren't. Maybe they have more flexible contracts? Natalie never wore any Dior during her Oscar run, even before the Galliano fiasco.

Her outfit at the airport is confusing. I can see her putting a look like that together as she does have a penchant for hats, jeans and a normal t-shirt but the sky high heels seem out of character. I love the coat though.

but it can be customized like the SAG dress (very minimal changes) and I was hoping for a brand new gown. like the Prada dress Diane Kruger wore to an event last year, it kept the vibe of the collection but the design was new :)

There's rumor (not confirmation) that Mila was let go of by Dior and since summer 2012 I don't believe she's had any red carpets to do that'd require her to wear Dior. Natalie almost always wears Dior most of the time, if not Rodarte and Giambattista. I'd also heard that Charlize was "overthrown" and a model took over the beauty line, so she no longer factors into the Dior equation. The only Dior that Natalie wore during awards season was last year, when she presented Best Actress at the Oscars (red polka dot, if you recall).

I, too, find it interesting how the contracts seem to be different from girl to girl, whether past or present.

Jennifer herself said "pants", not Piers who would have been caught saying something British, if that was the case. She clearly doesn't understand fashion if she thinks that part of her dress was "pants". How can anyone call it a wardrobe malfunction when the mesh was part of the dress and only got snagged, not showing the world her glory parts? The media needs something to latch onto besides the "colors" of the awards shows, I guess...

if you read this article she knew what was and when she called it pants she was joking

JENNIFER LAWRENCE has addressed the supposed dress "malfunction" that made headlines at the 2013 SAG Awards. The Vogue cover girl confirmed what many of us already understood, that her Christian Dior Couture gown did not rip - despite what was reported in the tabloids.

"It's the way the dress was structured," the actress explained. "It's a tiered dress, which I didn't understand until I sat down and saw my thighs through sheer material and thought, 'What's going on?!' So yes, that was a surprise, but not a malfunction".

The moment in question occurred when the 22-year-old made her way to collect the award for Best Actress, for her turn in Silver Linings Playbook. Lawrence stumbled as she left her table and pulled up the top layer of the skirt as she walked, exposing the sheer panel underneath - which many assumed was a rip in the fabric.

"It was supposed to do that, though. I planned it," she joked. "I was concerned people would start talking about the award that I won, and my acting, so I thought I'd pull a stunt just to get things back to where they need to be."
