Jenny Sinkaberg

Seems like Jenny is causing quite a stir in NY.
Here she is on W Magazine Blog "The Skinny" featured as this week's model.

THIS WEEK'S MODEL: JENNY SINKABERG

With an intense look complemented by pale blue eyes, newcomer Jenny Sinkaberg is one of the girls expected to shine when the shows officially kick off tomorrow. Though she’s making her New York debut this week, it certainly isn’t her first trip down the catwalk. After signing with IMG last September, the 17-year-old Oslo native (seen here backstage at Chanel) debuted during the spring 2010 collections in Paris at Balenciaga, Miu Miu and Giambattista Valli. But it was at the spring 2010 couture shows that Sinkaberg really wowed. There she managed to land gigs with three of fashion’s most storied houses: Christian Dior, Valentino and Chanel. With that kind of resume, we’re excited to see what Sinkaberg has in store.

There’s a lot of buzz about you for fall. What does that feel like?
Amazing, and at the same time a little scary. It's a huge responsibility, because it means that a lot of people believe I have something to offer this industry.

What shows are you most excited to do?
This will be my first full season. I hope I keep the shows I already did in Paris and have many more additions. I have a "secret list" of what I want to do, but I don't want to publish it. We’ll soon see what's happening!

How did you become interested in modeling?
Growing up, I wasn’t into modeling at all. I was a tomboy at heart and beauty, fashion and makeup was far from my daily life. Finally a photographer friend gave me ultimatum: He said if I didn’t contact an agency, he would. That was it.

What do you consider your first big break?
I have to thank Nicolas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga. Walking in his show at the beginning of Paris fashion week definitely put me on the map.

How was couture?
I had no expectations and I said to myself that I would be happy booking just one show. Doing Valentino, Dior and Chanel was surreal.

Many models say their favorite moment is walking in a Chanel show. How was it for you?
Karl Lagerfeld is such an inspiring man. The influence he has on the fashion industry is not possible to explain with words. Walking for Chanel was always one of my dreams.

What do you like to do when you’re off-duty?
I'm not a fan of a lazy lifestyle, so I prefer to move and not rest. I love running, walking around in new cities, watching people and learning languages. I’ve also been showing and breeding Dalmatians since I was very young.

Such a natural beauty...but her face can take serious make-up...love her... she needs more editorials...

And seems like she has two looks @ BCBG Max Azria! Great start! :)

A fantastic start for our Jenny! Thanks for posting the photos. :)

Woot woot, she is doing SO well already. Well on her way to all the top newcomers lists (Although in a way she isn't one, ha)

What an amazing start to Jenny's first New York season. I actually don't think it's possible to have a better start?

It looks like she's picking just the top shows and it actually looks like she's on board with almost every major casting director;

- Russel Marsh (BCBG Maz Azria)
- Ashley Brokaw (Rag and Bone)
- Angus Munro (Preen)
- Michelle Lee (Has given Jenny praise on several blogs, she is bound to show up at Marc Jacobs)

The only thing left to see is if Maida at Calvin Klein likes Jenny and if so, she's 5/5. We are going to be seeing a lot more Jenny in the next weeks .. Be prepared. :D

Too bad she's not getting any attention on this forum.

I'm not particularly fond of her look at BCBG (can't quite describe it... but I think many girls didn't look their best) but I absolutely love Jenny at Richard Chai - she pulls of that styling so well!

And btw: thanks for that list, Omnis - didn't even notice how much in demand she seems to be hehe. I'm sure there are even bigger things to come very soon.

4 good shows so far :) Jenny's on a roll! :woot: I can feel she's going to be a top 10 newcomer :bounce:

Your list, Omnis, makes me realise how great she's doing indeed, wow!:woot: Thanks for this!

Wonderful shots!

This showcard smells like Prada!

Glad to see jenny doing so well so far in ny, love her bundled up school girl look at Rag & Bone, so adorable:D

It's still early, but it looks like Jenny is becoming IMG's rough diamond and no 1 new girl this season.

I'm willing to bet they are putting all they have behind her and being that they are the biggest and most powerful agency in the world, that should mean that she will have endless opportunities if all goes right ..
