t was a happy accident that light was flooding in from outside into the white washed loft where Jeremy Laing showed his A/W 08 collection. The silhouettes were dramatically enhanced when they were against the white drapes. Then there were the references to light itself on the pieces. A marble print, used on boxy dresses, high waisted tapered trousers and waistcoats flickering with white that seemed to catch the light. A light in motion burnt orange photographic print mirrored the movement of the silk dresses, which were cut with their own mini train. Prism effects in a diamond were also used as a photographic print and to add the obvious light reflecting quality, Swarovski pearl studs were seen on jacquard dresses.

It was small and intimate affair, complete with live soundtrack by vocoder-fiends New Feelings that was greatly downsized from last season but was the perfect setup for Laing's light to shine.

I like it, but I'm not . . feeling it.
I don't feel much personality behind this.

love this collection!! so interesting. hopefully we'll get to see all of it soon

i was at the show and overall it wasn't anything too amazing. i enjoyed a lot the more simple monochromatic silk pieces, the dresses with the asymmetrical ribbon that flowed from the front to the back, and the beautiful glass print pieces. a lot of the other pieces felt a little bit too embellished i.e. black straps that accented the backs of most of the other pieces.

This is really gorgeous. It's one of the few collections so far that didn't look like everything else.

its stunning! even though it doesn't necessarily fill the void of jens laugesen, this monochrome structured aesthetic does kind of relate his style.

ok i really like it . Intresting cut around neck/bust. And i absolutely LOVE, Love LEATHER mini dress with short sleeves. Only few pieces with too much pattern are not so good in my opinion but rest - lovely.

I love the feeling of freedom and lightness from this collection. Many of the clothes are structured well yet it doesn't look cagey like many other similar designs. The best part are the dresses at the end.
