I don't think that Jesse is a mediocre actor at all. He just happens to be offered (sort of) similar roles.

I've noticed especially on the Internet a lot of people compare him to Michael Cera, both on looks and acting. Cera isn't the worst actor of all time but I really doubt he could have played a role like Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. I prefer Jesse!

I loved him in The Social Network and I'm so happy about his Oscar nomination Lately I've been catching up on his other movies and I really like Adventureland. It's true that he used to get similar roles, but I think Mark Zuckerberg was definitely a different character and I'm curious what kind of roles he'll be playing in the future!

For those saying Jesse is a bad actor have you seen him in The Squid & the Whale? I thought he was excellent in that. I think he has a lot more range than Michael Cera.

Oh man, I hated that movie. I didn't think it really went anywhere.

I suggest he go after more roles that don't just stick him in the dorky-nerdy-geeky cookie-cutter roles he's been taking. And he should do more comedy. No more "dry" humor. SNL was really enjoyable. He ought to try that route some..
