Jesse Eisenberg

And he should do more comedy. No more "dry" humor. SNL was really enjoyable. :D He ought to try that route some..

I loved his SNL episode. I thought I would be cringing but it was actually
really funny.

^^ I enjoyed The Squid and the Whale too! ^_^

I love his humour in interviews... very subtle and dry, but I think he did great at SNL!

He's got these really adorable puppy dog eyes.
"...to the left..." loll

Aw man, he was really nervous when Sandra mentioned him at the Oscars ceremony
I found his awkwardness and shyness awfully adorable. And he's quite easy in the eyes, isn't he? :crush:

^very easy on the eyes :innocent::D

new project:

Oscar Winner Melissa Leo to Parent Jesse Eisenberg in Predisposed

Last night, Melissa Leo and Jesse Eisenberg were rivals, each hoping their respective Best Picture nominees would go home with more Oscar hardware. Tonight, Vulture has learned, they're co-stars. Both are committing to star in the indie comedy Predisposed, a macabre look at the unhealthy relationship between a drug-addicted mother (Leo) and her college-bound son (Eisenberg), set on the day of both his interview at Julliard and her planned arrival to rehab.

Complicating matters, mom's lack of health insurance means she can only be admitted to rehab if she shows up intoxicated; further complicating matters is the feud that erupts between mom's drug dealer, Sprinkles — who spies tell us will be played by 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan — and an as-yet-uncast rival purveyor of recreational pharmaceuticals. (Charlie Sheen, your ship has come in!)

Predisposed went to Sundance in 2009 as a short also starring Leo; it was co-written by Philip Dorling and Ron Nyswaner (himself nominated for an Oscar for writing Philadelphia back in 1994) with Dorling directing, but we're told that this go 'round, it'll be Nyswaner who'll make his directing debut. Shooting is scheduled to start this summer, while 30 Rock is on hiatus.

Meanwhile, we also hear the Oscar-winning Leo is committing to star in a revival of Picnic, the Pulitzer Prize–winning William Inge play that will be directed on Broadway later this year by the Roundabout Theater's newest artistic associate, Sam Gold, and produced by Darren Bagert (who has produced revivals of Company and Guys and Dolls).

^ Sounds interesting.

my screencap

I was laughing so hard at this.

He looked good in his Band of Outsiders tux at the Oscars. He fits the brand's nerdy-chic aesthetic so perfectly, wouldn't be surprised to see him front one of their celebrity polaroid campaigns in the future.

I did not know he had a girlfriend.
He looks so Normal there, but in a hot way.

^yes, they've been together for 6 or 7 years! ^_^

just watched Adventureland again a couple of days ago... he's so amazing in it! :D

New project with Woody Allen:

Ellen Page & Jessie Eisenberg Will Go to Rome for Woody Allen's Next Project

Yes, we know. Jesse Eisenberg has a niche having played a neurotic teenager in “Roger Dodger,” a neurotic apocalypse-survivor in “Zombieland,” a neurotic billionaire in “The Social Network” and a neurotic parrot in this Friday’s “Rio” and while his superfans might want him to stretch his wings a bit, the actor knows his sweet spot and you simply don’t turn down an opportunity to work with one of the giants of cinema.

Variety has confirmed following suggestions earlier this week, that Eisenberg has joined Woody Allen‘s next film and not only that, Ellen Page has come aboard as well. The two young thesps will join Penelope Cruz and Alec Baldwin in the film which you won’t know the plot of until Woody Allen feels like telling you. But it will probably involve a transplanted American in a foreign city with romantic mishaps along the way but you know what? That’s fine by us. We’re pretty excited to see Eisenberg and Page jump into Woody’s world and we think it could be a great fit for their sensibilities. - indirewire

Jesse has mentioned in an interview that he's a fan of Woody Allen's films and would love to work with him, so that's really great news! and Ellen Page as well, awesome!! :D

(though I have to disagree with the description of the character of Mark Zuckerberg being neurotic, wtf)

Yeah he's like a different kind of cute ya know. And he's a pretty good actor and i reckon he'll get better as the years go on. He's really good at subtleties in his films. Like 'blink and you'll miss it' moments. He's really good in The Hunting Party too. I recommend that movie.

Good news for those of us who enjoyed The Squid & the Whale, he may be teaming up with Noah Baumbach again:
Jesse Eisenberg & Naomi Watts Circle Noah Baumbach’s ‘While We’re Young’

It’s been a bit of a casting revolving door for Noah Baumbach‘s next effort “While We’re Young.” Last year, Ben Stiller, Gerta Gerwig and James Franco were all set to team on the film. Then, shortly after that was announced, Gerwig left and Cate Blanchett joined, only for both the actress and Franco to ultimately drop out this spring. Well, Stiller has stuck by his “Greenberg” director thus far and now two more very promising faces are said to be circling the project.

24 Frames reports that Baumbach’s “The Squid And The Whale” star Jesse Eisenberg and Naomi Watts (whose best bud Nicole Kidman starred in “Margot At The Wedding”) are both in talks to join the film. The plot follows a Brooklynite twenty-something couple who inspire an older, uptight documentarian and his wife to loosen up; comic mishaps ensue. Stiller and Watts would play the older duo, while Eisenberg and a yet-to-be-cast actress would play the younger half.

No word yet on when this would shoot but presumably it would have to wait until the fall when Eisenberg is back from Italy where he’ll be shooting Woody Allen‘s “Bop Decameron” this summer. But both Stiller and Watts have open and a bit more flexible calendars at the moment.
So, Baumbach reteaming with Stiller and Eisenberg and bringing Watts into the fold? Yes, please. Say what you will about the previous iteration of the casting, but this is just as strong, if not better. Let’s hope this comes together and sticks. -indiewire, theplaylist

He's a busy dude, a movie co-starring Melanie Laurent also in the works

Melanie Laurent Confirmed For ‘Now You See Me’; Jake Gyllenhaal Out, Jesse Eisenberg Stays In

We definitely have a soft spot for Louis Leterrier, as far as action-led helmers go. Undeniably talented, he’s more than proved his action chops on the first two “Transporter” films, and pulled off a solid superhero flick on “The Incredible Hulk.” Unfortunately, his last film, “Clash of the Titans,” while a big hit, suffered from shoddy 3D and was probably a script that shouldn’t have gone before cameras in the first place.

While the currently-filming sequel was given to other hands, Leterrier hasn’t been bowed, and his next film is shaping up to be his most promising to date by far. The French director is gearing up to direct “Now You See Me,” a heist thriller about the face-off between an FBI team and a group of world-famous illusionists who pull heists during their act, and an impressive set of names were said to be circling the project, including Jesse Eisenberg, Jake Gyllenhaal, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Olivia Wilde. There’s good news and bad news today, with some of the previous names being locked in, while at least one has moved on to new pastures.

Variety report that “Inglourious Basterds” star Melanie Laurent, last seen being typically luminous in Mike Mills’ wonderful “Beginners,” is in firm negotations to play the female lead in the film, which, after her terrific turn in Tarantino’s film, can only be a good thing. Laurent will join the increasingly, and deservingly, busy Eisenberg, who’s now locked in to the project, but the trade reports that Gyllenhaal has passed on the project. There’s no word on whether Hoffman and Wilde are still involved—neither have taken other projects recently, so it’s possible they’re still in talks.

Still, Eisenberg and Laurent alone would have our interest: both are relatively picky in their roles, which suggests that the script, by Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt, is strong. “Star Trek” writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing and Summit will release the film. There’s no exact word on when filming will start, but it’ll presumably come some time after Eisenberg wraps Woody Allen‘s currently-filming “Bop Decameron,” so perhaps we’ll see it in theaters in late 2012 or early 2013.

^exciting news! :woot: Inglourious Basterds is the only film I've seen Laurent in, but I thought she did a terrific job!
