SEXY Jessica Simpson is stepping out of Daisy Duke’s skimpy hotpants — and into Pamela Anderson’s red bikini.
The actress has landed the key role in the Hollywood remake of the 1990s ITV classic Baywatch.
A source said: “Jessica really caught the eye in The Dukes of Hazzard film last summer. She was the unanimous choice for the Baywatch role.”

Producers hope David Hasselhoff, 53, who played Lt Mitch Buchannon, will join the cast now Jessica is on board.

Back in high school, my sister and I used to watch Baywatch every saturday afternoon, as we did our busywork homework. We unabashedly loved everything about it, except for the vile Stephanie and dumb*** Hobie. It was such camp, so enjoyable in a base, moronic way. Such vast amounts of cheesy goodness. Our favorite episode was when the lifeguard tower was taken hostage, and Eddie spent 2/3 of the episode tunneling under the sand so as not to be seen by the hostage takers, painstakingly and heroically making his way to save the day - only to come up about 100 feet from said tower and run in plain view the rest of the way. Shows consistantly THAT stupid and jiggly shouldn't be messed with, and remade, in any capacity. And certainly not in a way that involves Jessica Simpson. CJ was always actually pretty sharp, as far as the Baywatch babes went, and I'm sure Jessica will make her as vacuous and sl*tty as (I heard) she made Daisy Duke.

Cj wasn't a complete moronic on the show so why are they casting this moronic for her part?
and what is with all the remakes. Man I cannot stand Jessica Simpson or her evil family.... next thing Papa Joe will be demanding to be on set all day while she is in that cossie (shudder) or even worse, will demand the role of the Hoff for himself!

I liked the C.J character on Baywatch,yes..i watched it,i would work out to it sometimes but i only liked the early episodes with CJ in them,her character was cute and very nice....clean living actually!Baywatch was a fun and goofy guilty pleasure....
but a movie,no way and Jessica in it and playing CJ?I will not see it ever.
Watch reruns of Baywatch as inspiration while exercizing-it helps.
