I have read that somewhere too! I believe it was River who "converted" the whole family to vegans as a child. He was the first one to refuse to use any animal products, meat and dairy products.

I love it! I've seen it twice already, it's great. Reese and Joaquin are both really great (I think they both really deserve all possible nominations and awards ).
I was really caught in the story line and what I found really touching and appealing was that it all really happened, June and Johnny were really much in love for so long before they could "admit it" and they loved each other very deeply until the end. Definitely one of the best films in ages and really interesting and touching. A TRUE love story

The acting was spectacular, I felt like I was looking at june and johnny, not two actors.
The script was spectacular, the costumes, the energy..everything!

Exactly what I was thinking when I wrote my post, I just couldn’t put it into words…

Off topic, but…
Johnny and his music were rather new to me as well, of course I had heard about him, but I had never really figured out what his story was and why is he so famous. And I knew even less about June. I just thought they were some random happy couple singing songs together couple of decades ago… Oh boy, how wrong was I? Part of it has to do with the fact that I live in Scandinavia, and they've never been that huge here, relatively known of course.
I swore to myself couple of years ago that I would never listen to anything that even remotely reminded of country music, however couple of weeks ago I found myself holding a copy of Johnny Cash’s cd on my hands. I ended up buying it and have not regretted! I find his style of singing really fascinating, a nice plus to my collection of cd’s. After all, he’s a legend I think Joaquin sounds a lot like him in the movie, Reese’s voice however I think is little softer than June’s. The cd also had couple of songs where June was with, like the famous Jackson.
And Johnny’s version of NIN’s Hurt actually made me cry!! Especially after seeing the music video because so many recommended it to me. If you haven’t seen it, I urge you to watch it!! Really intense.
