As much as I think he's turning to a sell-out, I seem to have some kind of an addiction. Even though most of his last films have been disappointing, I go to see them after they premiere here. A guilty pleasure.

He's sooooo....yummy!:lol: Really a hot guy, he has always been very handsome! Damn it, he's one of the hottest actors in Hollywood! Unfortunately I guess I'm just one of million women who adore him ^_^. He's such a great, talented actor as well, very inspiring! I love all his movies and his role choices...really Vanessa Paradis is such a lucky girl! :p
 
I don't think he's selling out. I think he's just trying to do movies that his kids can watch. A lot of actors do that once they become parents. If he was going to sell out he could have done that years ago.

I agree with you! :) He said himself the reason he decided to do POTC 1 was for his kids, and the reson he's doing the sequels is cause he loves the character. But its not his fault the only movies of his the public pays attention to are the kiddie ones, I mean he did the Libertine and I couldn't even see it cause it didn't get wide release but he still did it! I don't see how that was selling out! And he has the Rum Diary scheduled at some point in the future... I definitly don't think Johnny's a sellout!

If it only would have stopped at Pirates of the Caribbean, but no. Also the two Burton films that came out this year were lower quality than usually. I understand that he feels he wants to make films for his kids, but now it's getting too far.

Actors say always positive things to promote their films and cover the real reason for them taking them. Have you ever heard of an actor who admits that " yeah, this newest film I did was because I wanted money". Of course not.

And if he so wants to please his kiddies, why doesn't he just spend the time he puts on working on these " kiddie films" actually being and playing with his kids? That's what they'd appreciate.

Yeah, and the only reason he did Willy Wonka, besides that it was okay for his kids was that he pretty much always says yes to Tim. I don't know why he's getting so much crap for this. I mean, of all the brilliant performances he's given over the years, they pick Jack Sparrow as his one picture to be nominated for? :blink:

Don't get me wrong, he's brilliant, but that's not the performance I would have picked to nominate him for. I think Gilbert Grape was worthy, Edward Scissorhands was worthy, Donnie Brasco, Blow... it goes on.

So yes, glad someone agrees with me. :flower:

I have to agree with you on this point. I love Johnny so much, but i'm a bit sick of him giving these nice little quotes to the press about how much he loves his kids and Vanessa, yet he's been spending most of his time filming on location the past few years while the kids and Vanessa stay back in LA while Lily Rose is in school. And by the look of it, he'll be spending even more time away for the next 2 years. He doesn't need the money, he should take a break and be with his family for more than a week at a time.
 
Woa... Its one thing to call him a sellout based on his movie choices, but now you are calling him a bad father because he did the movies he did? He clearly enjoys working, and so maybe he choose to do the roles he did so his kids see him act. Do you think he'd let them watch Blow or Donnie Brasco at this age? Hell no, he just wanted to do something to show his kids what he does. How do you know what Johnny's daily life is like? For all you know he could fly to see his family as often as he can.
