We've had a proper old catch up with the lovely Jordan Burman (Select) about London fashion week, what he' been up to and our usual random stuff.
How did you get into modelling?
I was shopping on Oxford Street in Topshop with my girlfriend when I was approached.
Tell us about one of your favorite modelling experiences?
A big experience for me was London Fashion Week last year. It was the first thing I had properly achieved. It was scary but exciting and I have to thank my first model booker for that!
What are your passions?
I enjoy creativity and have a creative family. My brother is studying fashion, my sister is a dancer and I model. I like the creative side of the world.
What are you good at?
I think I'm good at looking after people. I see myself as the dad of my group of friends, the sensible one. I used to be a keen footballer too until school and work commitments got in the way. Now I want to give modelling a proper chance.
What makes you laugh?
My family, friends and model bookers!
Tell us three random facts about yourself
I'm quite hairy. I have osgood schlatters. I love food!
What do you do when you're not modelling?
I have a part-time job so try to work when I'm not modeling. I also spend time with my friends and girlfriend.
Tell us something cool
My first ever 'model party' was a LFW after party. It was very glamorous, free drinks all night, amazing venue (W Hotel) and there was lots of famous people there! Have to thank my first model booker for that again.
Describe a perfect day for you
Wake up at 10ish, have a bagel. Have a shower, head into London for a shoot for a magazine. Meet some great people, have a laugh, wear some wicked clothes and work hard at making some great shots. Then meet some friends, have a great night out then hit the bed!
OR
Wake up with my girlfriend and lay in until 11/12, get up, wash and head out shopping or chilling somewhere. Then go for a nandos, half a chicken, creamy mash and grilled halloumi cheese. Then head home, snuggle in bed with my girlfriend, a decent film and Ben and Jerrys ice cream!
Recommend us a song we should listen to and why? We are totally up for expanding our music collection.
I love music and listen to a lot of it. A wide range too. I'd recommend the Little Comets album. There a wicked little band. Preferably 'Joanna' 'Isles' or 'Mathilda'
London Fashion Week is just over. What was LFW like for you in a nutshell?
Running around London on a Tuesday afternoon getting a few big castings on the hit list. Then making my way home and get comfortable and watch the series Lost that I'm hooked too at the moment. Then *ring ring* Select Models appears on my phone. Hopefully good news. "Jordan you've been confirmed for Matthew Miller." "Woo, sweet boy!" lol. So I had to dash back into East London again at about 9 o'clock for a fitting. All was good and a 7.30am call time was not so good haha! I had a wicked suit on with some rather cool shoes and bag! Matthew Miller is a great designer and his team were all so lovely! Nice experience with some cool models too. Thoroughly enjoyed my LFW day!
Thank you Jordan, you have been a darling! Make sure to check in with us again soon.
