Jpg Customized Linda Evangelista Hermes Birkin

I read this in a magazine: In the early 90s, Jean Paul Gaultier customized a white Hermes Birkin for model Linda Evangelista. Three portraits of Linda E. drawn in black pen, with Gaultier-style metal chain accents.

I think its nice. Such a special gift!

Does anyone know more about this? It's just interesting cause it means that its not the first time that JPG has "worked" with Hermes, given the new Kelly and Birkin bags that he designed for Hermes.

Oops The magazine said it was a Kelly, so they were wrong...

Leyla, even though I like how Gaultier customized it, don't get any ideas and start drawing on yours...

as much as I dislike Gaultier for Hermes, that customized Birkin is absolutely amazing! LOVE it!

I saw Linda's customized bag in the current issue of V magazine (the one with Janet Jackson on the cover)... I didn't read the entire article, so I assumed that these "painted on" bags with the chains were going to be part of the new line that Jean Paul designed... but alas, I guess not.


...It would've been grand!! (albeit somewhat "disrespectful" because of the 'defacing' and the chains? but I love that; it's such a 'punk' statement) ...

i really think that hermes needs the jolt of gaultier's irreverence...this bag is wonderful!
