i've invested hundred dollars into a juicer:flower: to juice my way to a better healhy and radiant lifestyle. I'm quite amused by the juicer. you put whatever and it goes wooo woo wooooo and there a cup of natural medicine. it's really fast and gives me juices from nutritious vegetables and fruits that i don't want to eat whole like carrots and beetroots and cucumbers. i wonder whether the result will be radiant smooth skin and healthy hair and body. at least i'm happy and proud to give myself a healthy treat.
it's fun to juice. i've just finished my green apple and carrot juice. it tastes downright fabulous. i found a new way to replace junk foods.
Has anyone tried juicing and seen the results? please share to keep me going,B) B) B)

I did a butt-load of juicing last summer when there were tons of fruits available....
I don't know if I noticed better skin or hair but I certainly lost weight and overall I felt healthier :flower:

Very tasty, I'll probably do that again this summer ^_^

I love juicing as well! It tastes so good and you can be endlesly creative with different combinations which is so much fun. I don't know if I noticed any differences but it cannot be unhealthy to juice ones in a while :flower:

luckily here is tropical climate with variety of fruits throughout the year.

It makes me feel so healthy and is a great way to boost your daily vege and fruit intake! I also find that it makes my skin more glowy! I think just because it means I am getting a more balanced and healthy diet. But remember not to drink too much, i'd say no more than one glass a day because juice (even doing it yourself) contains alot more natural sugar than you would normally consume in a day and after all you dont normally eat 5 apples a day do you!? Haha

I juice carrots.. I was drinking like 8 oz a day but had to cut back because my hands and feet started to look like I used sunless tanner:lol: Juicing is good for you! I'm going to try juicing different fruits & veggies.. Plus since I juice I don't have to take some of the vitamins I use to because I get it through my juice (I still take some though)

i love juicing but i hate washing up every pieces of the juicers after that

yep ghost that is usually what ends up making the ol' juicer collect dust. The washing up afterwards...(if only they invented a self cleaning one)

You may want to read jason vale (i think thats his name) juice master
he also has a juicing recipe book...I love drinking carrot and apple juice with a squeeze of lemon (crapple) it's good if you cant handle the flavour of carrots alone.

I like carrot/spinach, carrot/beet and carrot/spinach/beet (khaki cocktail )

I won't buy a juicer though because I hate cleaning all the pieces. I would rather just buy juice at a store once in a while.

oooh I bet carrot and beetroot is nice.

I also have tried crapple+ celery, and crapple + cucumber.

The thing with buying it from a store is the enzymes start to lose their 'power' almost straight away, and cartons of juice generally have preservatives...unless you're referring to an actual juice bar or something (I wish we had one in Newcastle)

I looove juices and juicing yourself and drinking staight away is a good way to "eat" more veg. After abt 2 -3 weeks of everyday drinking pure home juiced juice (it should not be stored in the fridge) one can start adding these juiced leftovers from inside of a juicer. Do not do it before your digestion is accustomed - you might finish with unpleasant diarrohea...
I have also read that one should be carefull with drinking too much carrot juice and other sweet veg - like beetroot and look out for cucumber - some enzyme in it, will kill all vit C from other veg, so do not mix it !

My favourite mix: 2 carrots, 2 apples or oranges, parsley and sweet red juicy pepper. Nice start of a spring/summer day and the skin glows indeed!
When I am having this juice I am eating my cod liver/fish oil tablets - as oil improves digestion of vit A (from carrots).

I do agree about awful task of celaning a juicer - but the best thing is to clean it RIGHT AFTER use with a dish brush and fresh water - one does not want to have the juice tasting with Fairy Liquid :yuk:

juicing is fun!!! you do lose a lot of weight if you substitute the juice for a meal! washing is a pain tho.
i like carrot+tomato.

i just found this thread. We just got a juicer in our house and I'm considering juicing for a little while this summer to see if i get any cleansing benefits in my body, etc.

anyone have any experience with juicing?

i love juicing, except it takes time to do it every day, uses up heaps more fruit/veg than you would eat in a day in their original forms, thus is expensive, and the cleaning up is a drag. it makes you feel really good though... although you definitely can't substitute juice for meals - it still is a liquid and not a meal, and doesn't really fill you up at all... it's a good snack or nice with breakfast, or just as a drink.

the best things to use as bases are apples, celery and carrots, in my opinion. if you add any of these to suspect ingredients, like spinach (which is terrible plain), you can make them actually tasty. more exciting stuff can be added to these as well, like kiwi fruit or oranges, although you have to be aware of the juice becoming too citrus-y.

also, you have to make a fresh batch every single day - these juices do not keep at ALL, taste really unfresh and bad after being left for a day or two.
you do use a LOT to make 1 glass of juice as well, and maybe it'd be more beneficial actually eating the vegetables/fruit themselves, as well as cheaper. definitely much better than packaged, sugary juice though. ^_^

i totally thought this topic was about something else...

i don't have a juicer but i sometimes use my blender to puree the fruist and vegetables.

pineapple + raspberry and a bit of soy milk and a dash of vanilla...(natural). MY FAVOURITE! I also love just plain raspberries or a mix of berries....I had boysenberry and apple yesterday. We also went to a restaurant and had ginger, mint and passionfruit which was far too strong for me but Oliver loved it. Juicing is so fun (although not very good for my ears)

To echo some others comments love the juice, hate the clean-up. Plus, you have to drink it so quickly so that you retain the most nutrients...it ends up being 20 minutes of clean-up for 2 minutes pleasure.

Also, a word of warning...be careful if you add garlic to the mix...I juiced a whole piece into my concoction and the end result was not good :yuk:

I am into making smoothies at home and have a smoothie maker. Those fill me up even thought I just use ice and fruit (and sometimes protein powder). Is the juice filling too? I have been thinking a lot about buying a juicer and making my own concoctions at home.

you take in far more calories through juice than you would just eating the food whole.
