On a d' managment web-site her showcard differs

d' managment

It’s late Sunday night in West Chelsea, and four people—that would be Donna Karan, her right-hand woman, Patti Cohen, and two show producers—are peering at a laptop runway image of model Juju in a rather chic strapless black-and-brown fitted knee-length dress from the designer’s new spring collection, the colors rendered in graphic bands placed around and across the body; “like body paint,” says Karan of the decorative configuration. She and the rest of the team are checking to see how the dress—not to mention Juju—will look in the light of the runway once photographed and uploaded onto websites around the world. Karan, in that typically warm and self-effacing way of hers, will go on to relate the tale of how one season’s New York taxi cab yellow runway made all of the girls, she says laughing, green in the face.

Of course, as always with Karan, it’s more than a technological connection she’s looking to make with this collection; her designs—and ergo, her desire for women to feel empowered when they wear them—are always rooted in Karan’s emotional landscape, and spring 2012 is no different. It’s no secret she’s been spending much time in Haiti, working tirelessly on cultural and economic initiatives to revive the island’s fortunes through exporting its craft and design, and she has transported some of her hopes and dreams for the country into this collection, as well as being inspired by the country’s local talents, like the work of Haitian artist Philippe Dodard. It’s not a themed collection per se—if Haiti is its soul, its physicality is very much urban New York, with none of what’s being shown actually made in the Caribbean beyond some necklaces—yet Karan hopes it will have a life beyond the runway and in her woman’s closet; one of her prime objectives with it is to encourage a place for Haiti in the imaginations of her fellow New York designers.

Milan starts tomorrow!! Can't wait!
I hope the fact that anna wintour put her hand on Donna Karan show will be a good push in the right way in Juju's carrier

the b/w picture is so creepy!
donna karan looks like gollum who saw the ring on juju and now wants to kill her

Excellent start to Milan. Wonder if anyone from Ferretti will be able to walk for N21 (since they're so close time wise), but if so, I hope we'll see Juju there as well.

she will not be at Francesco Scognamiglio, so maybe she will be at Jo No Fui
