Julia Nobis

I remember watching her on that documentary The Model Agency when she was first starting out. I've never been into her as a model but I thought she came across as down to earth and with a good head on her shoulders. I liked that she didn't take any of it too seriously and she seems to have a lot of friends and fans within the industry too, which says something for her character. She's had an amazing career and achieved a lot and it's great that she's stepping down at the top of her game to pursue something she's really passionate about. She must be an extremely hard worker to have fit in her education with her modelling, I'm sure she will be a great doctor and wish her luck for the future

I kind of find that this the perfect ending to a flawless career. She steps down when she wants to, and to do what she really is passionate about. She wasn't fading or anything like that.

I wonder how it's going to work, though. If she's still available for campaigns (I don't know when the school/uni year starts in Australia), I can see her scoring a good bunch of them. A CK campaign would be the perfect farewell.

We start in late Feb, have 2 weeks off in April, a month off in July, 2 weeks off in September, and late Nov - late Feb off

I will miss seeing her at fashion week, she is definitely the silent queen of fashion.

I very sure she has just graduated and is officially "Dr Nobis", she has been studying for years already.

Not yet  she just graduated from her Bachelor of Science, which she was doing part-time online and will this year be applying for graduate medicine. That is why we need to wish her luck!

She was doing CK fittings 2 days ago? For the campaign I guess?

That was the look she had on for the show, so it could be a BTS photo from that.

Should've posted this way earlier, but with Nobis leaving full-season fashion week duties, looking back at her track record, she's been one of the runway forces who existed, hate it or not. She has been one of the greats there is, with hundreds of runway shows on her belt.

I'm not surprised that she'd pursue her doctor study. She's planned it for a long time as I read it and the time has come. Hopefully she has a good career in the future!

I'm going to miss her understated presence on the runway... she's a quiet force... easily one of my favorite models. She's been working for quite sometime balancing a successful modeling career with her medical studies so this isn't a surprise... I wish her the best and hope she is able to continue to do some modeling even if she won't be at fashion week(s).

Absolutely agree. She's been a mainstay on the runways for what? 6-7 years now? I really cannot think of another model from her generation that has had the consistency she's had. Season after season of bluechip, high profile shows and not only that quality, but the quantity of shows every season as well. I've always admired her work ethic and the fact that for the past 4 odd years she's been studying as well makes her all the more remarkable.

I think what makes her so cool as well is the fact that even though she's had every opportunity to become some type of 'it' girl with tremendous exposure, she's remained somewhat aloof and removed from that part of the fashion world. By staying true to herself and not following in the trends has allowed her to keep that air of cool and mystery. You see her walking around New York after shows dressed in ripped jeans, old hoodies and scuffed sneakers and I think it just adds so much appeal to her. She's still that scruffy kid from Sydney :woot:

Anyway, whatever she chooses to do I'm sure I won't be the only one here cheering her on in support
