Julia Stegner

Und sonst?
Mann, Kinder, Haus und Hund.
Eine eigene Fernsehshow?
Brauche ich nicht.
Heidi Klum verdient gut damit.
Sie kann sich sehr gut präsentieren!
Schauspielerei?

After modelling:
Man, children, house and dog.
Own tv show?
I don't need that.
Heidi Klum gets a lot of money with that!
She is very good at presenting herself.
Acting?
That would have to be really good things.
But the other way round actors/actresses get model jobs too.
Hollywood stars get commercial jobs and covers, so my plan is all models should boycott them and steal their jobs!

the end of my dream she would stay in the media :(

I would like to see her acting, as in small cameos. idk about big time acting, the only successful model turned actress-Milla Jovovich. :innocent:

Not saying Julia can't be a good actress :innocent:

^_^^_^ here comes my newest translation and again note its made by my terrible programm called linguatec i didnt correct a single word lazy as always:doh::rolleyes::rolleyes:
E N J O Y F O L K SB)

Rather elegant for a downtown girl!
Exception! I best of all run around in jeans and hood jumper. But since I afterwards still must to this one "Vogue" ...
An appointment with editor-in-chief Anna Wintour personally?
Not this. But one can always run for somebody over the way.
One must produce brand names there!
No looking elegant partly, however.
So you like to carry no-name products?
Cross by the kitchen garden! It is a mix Vintage-, H&M, designer gear. I am also always interested modelling more for styling and fashion through this, though. One comes onto designer things automatically there.
Your favourites?
In the time of Chloé, Marc Jacobs, Matthew Williamson.
Everyone rakes young. And Zac Poznan is still almost your generation with 26 years. Do you have a preference for young New York fashion-designers like also Proenza Schouler?
Yes, I for example understand myself with the two very well. And I find it terrific at all when young designers stir up the scene a bit.
In New York, seems to himself to rejuvenate the fashion just more than in Milan and Paris where the big brands dominate.
Yes, many models and photographers just live here. The fashion shifts here.
Because there are most orders?

I was in London and twice in Paris in the last season perhaps twice. Far more is loose in New York there. For spring summer productions and this one is photo shooting in Los Angeles or Miami. This can be also more easily reached from here. Already, the dent after September 11th is balanced again.
Downtown has become your home?
One can say so. My world reaches the 15th street. I, everything I can achieve with the bicycle, love particularly the Village. I do not like to go to Midtown and Uptown so sooner for professional reasons.
More and more empires and important also live in Soho and Tribeca. Jean Nouvel builds this one " 40 Mercer Residences "...just here next-door.
Yes, I do not go out much how in Soho, rather in bars in the East or in the west Village to to into the Meatpacking District? However, this one is partly already overrun with people who comes by the tunnel although this also does not matter actually.
Anyway more does himself in the East Village.
A bar besides the other one! I do not like noble clubs, rather pubs in which one can play player or billiards.
The one does not recognize you and into?
These anyway do not so often happen in New York. I am most frequently spoken to by German tourists well.
Internationally confessed German models many do not exist any more since Claudia Schiffer, Nadja Auermann, Tatjana Patitz and Heidi Klum are mothers and work less.
Many do not occur to me either.
You are mentioned with Heidi and Claudia in a breath again and again although she does not connect much with each other.
This is correct. The comparisons with the former English model Jean Shrimpton or with Nastassja Kinski match well from the appearance better.
But the German qualities with them and with the young lady miracle Susanne Erichsen or with Veruschka of Lehndorff which also lived in New York for a long time at least connect you?

At the beginning they have said German Bookerin to mine: "Julia is so German!" This was meant well also positively. I was always over-punctual -- I am punctual only now. Three times, I make sure by phone before appointments. I want to be able to plan the things. However, this often is not possible in my profession. It is called sudden: You fly to Paris tomorrow! In addition, what I do not at the model existence like? I was already always independent and ambitious and have enjoyed my performances. But, if you are not booked as a model, you can do nothing against this. One is dependent on other people. Accepting that one is helpless in the reason in this profession and the success does not depend on the performance of its own, this is difficult.
Supply and demand regulate everything.
Yes and he does not take it, if somebody does not like the product. One does not have everything himself in his hand although of course one gets on with many people well.
And one is permanently exposed to the results of other people.
One discovers one thousand things to himself which one has not seen before. Some say one gets more self-confidence in the profession. I do not believe this. Before I have gemodelt nobody has noticed that my mouth looks a little wry. Now I see this small stigma on every photo, even notice it if I talk. One must be self-confident enough if one comes in this profession. One can continue to exist only in such a way without suffering damages.
Embellishes, says one an average face is with a small deviation.
It is!(laughs) become no, I as classic beauty describes already a bit bigger with me. It is in demand, however, if one looks androgynous and cool in just the " high fashion ". I am not absolutely this. The wry mouth in this respect helps me. So I am not so perfect.

next round^_^

A prejudice against German models wants that they are experienced, and not prudish.
If one is not over-friendly as a model once, this is immediately lent to one as arrogance. Very much will work for it and you can irritate before during the looking weeks. But I then try to suppress, I just am not what in reality either because of course I do not want to be regarded as a nanny goat.
And where comes the will-power from?
From the family. Without my parents and friends I would not have made it.
For this, however, you seldom drive home!
I was there three days over Easter in summer two weeks. I live already almost two years in New York now and am here at home. But I speak on the phone to my parents every day. And I also miss Munich beer gardens.
Go you "tailor" in the East Village to the comfort into this?
Yes, for sauerkraut and frying sausages. I know rather exactly where there is downtown escalope. And I like to go also into the "blue goose" in Tribeca with an Austrian German cooking.
For the first time, when did you get conscious that you jut out of the crowd from stature and beauty?
I was taller than the Jung already in the first class. In the puberty they called me Steckerlfisch or beanpole or Stegosaurus. However, these were only Frotzeleien. I was not satisfied with 12 or 13 with my height at all. My parents are -- then gone with me both very big -- for a test at which the wrist was X-rayed. One told me there I would become not more than 1.76 metres. I was 1.80 metres sometime and we went again. It was then said there it would only become two or three centimetres. And it has become really only 1.83 metres.
For a model ideal!
Anyway I feel no longer too tall in the society of models.
You also have remained thin.
However, it disturbs me if people claim I would have bulimia.
However, you are really very thin!
This already. But I belong to the models looking normal. I do not have and be hungry either.
Strictly speaking, your model career has already started in the basic school age.
With seven or eight years I have worked for child agencies. I have for example made television advertizing for cold means. I was also Komparsin for ZDF films. Anyway I have always loved to stand in front of the camera.
What has to come together so that a model is successful?
One must love the cameras, one must be slim and look good, have charisma, personality and nerves. And one must be young: When I began full-time with 18 years, all girls were my age. At the moment, really many five ten-year-olds come again and I find this not well. Not because I would be afraid in front of competition. It already was not easy for me with 18 although I had a stable home. With 14 years one is far too unstable for such a job anyway! I would never either have begun without school-leaving qualification. Exceptions are girls like Gemma Ward who was already with 16 very adult.
But you have thrown the special abitur down for the model career.
Because there were so many inquiries, that everyone has for me said: Make it now! Who knows whether they want you within two years certainly?
Heidi Klum has resorted to the commercial one from the start and is never right in the " high fashion " mattered. Would this be a way also for you?

I like to work in the " high fashion ". Some Fotostrecken into magazines are art for me. Saying many: What does this look like, then? But I like it. Nevertheless: I also like to make beautiful catalogues.
And do you run also for young designers without being paid?
Sometimes one must settle for a dress.
Is this better in Paris and Milan?
Only in Milan. In which one already complains there, too, why one must pay the large fees still.
No way passes by shows?
Primarily at the beginning the catwalk is very important. Everyone is there there and one is seen by all editors. I have run in New York, Milan and Paris in altogether seventy shows in three weeks in my second season. This was extreme. I am choosing what I like now. I do not want me hergeben for everything so fast either.
Particularly since shows are exhausting!
And how! Therefore I am not a fan of fashion shows either. It is simply too stressful. One has fittings till late in the night, constant make-up is down made and on it made again, everything is rather superficial and after half an hour it is anyway past. No, I like to cooperate with people a little longer. This business is quite often fake. And I do not like it to be fake. The only good: One meets designers and many other girls again.
Important question for models: What comes according to that?
I intend already to make my special abitur up and to study some time, perhaps business administration. Although I was always weak in mathematics in the accountancy but top.
And otherwise?
Man, children, house and dog.
A TV show of one's own?
I do not need.
Heidi Klum earns well with that.
She can present herself very well!
Acting?
Really good offers should come there.
Since actresses always work more often than model, perhaps it works the other way round once, too.
Hollywood stars make advertising campaigns and come on the cover. I therefore say: Models combine forces! Let us snap the jobs from the actresses!

:blink::shock::innocent:

Her new article in the Japanese magazine translated by matthew  (he'll try and scan the new editorial too :D)

its a translation so things may not make too much sense;)

Julia Stegner 23 German and already a supermodel but her is still on the earth and down to ground. “I still shop at H&M , I don’t want to change my lifestyle , I want to live like the way I lived before this job”

Us think she is perfect. She doesn’t though. “I have a crooked mouth and asymmetrical jaw , my imperfections are what makes me , I’m not those perfect models look”

“ I think I can make it (her jaw) look better when I open my mouth a bit but I’m not perfect no .. never say I am”

She is greatful for her career. “ It happened very fast , of course this won’t last forever and I don’t want it to last forever but I don’t want it to end very soon either and I will be sad but I have other plans too”

Was she most popular? “My friends got more play than me” , she laughs. “ I was nicknamed beanbar.” Is it meaning in a good way? “I don’t think they mean it complimentary” , she laughing.

What good revenge now years later she has signed multimillion contract with Maybelline and VS. This is one gorgeous german ready for world domination.

“ Actress is dominate models today but one day ..”
