Junya Watanabe F/W 14.15 Paris

I love the shapes and layers here...especially in the opening looks. So lovely .

I still regard Spring 2005 as the pinnacle of work by Junya. It's still breathtaking to see to this day. He's been misfire for a while with his women's collections, this one was no exception. I adore every mens collection but feel his women's collections have been unimpressive lately. His shows are one of the few I look forward to most every season.

i love the textures…it's like tattered up glam…could it be a more pertinent reaction what with the phony punks at the met not long ago and this weekend's oscar festivities? not sure that was the concept but it certainly could work in that way.

yeah i agree, junya isn't like the junya we saw throughout the 90's and early noughties but i have to say there is that one element that's always prevalent in some vein or another and that of course is his knack for deconstruction and making it feel just as relevant today as it was in its heyday. i do miss that more abstract/conceptual side of junya but this more "familiar" side he really seems to play up better than a lot of designers do.

it's beyond good...
really outstanding

and it looks sooooo comfy!!!
