pretty. does anyone know - does karen elson live in nashville with her husband jack white? just curious, because i live in nashville.

^^Yes she does :) Well they have a house together in Nashville, but I guess she still has her home in New York too.

Thanks for the heads up, NickiLee. :) That new web site is gorgeous!

For people who might want to know - if you go to the 'Shows' section, the individual sections for 'The Trepanning Opera' and 'Chewing Up the Scenery' include video clips from the shows, some of which include Karen singing and performing. She has such a sweet voice. And most of the shows' sections come with a picture gallery as well.

On an off-topic note... I wish I was in The Citizens Band. It looks like so much fun.

Wow thanks for the heads up on the videos! I would so love to see them perform. I'll bet their shows are a blast.

Scary Pirate Pics for Vogue Magazine
I did a photoshoot for Vogue magazine today with the incomparable Karen Elson. Hopefully the photos will make there way into the March issue, but ya never know with this stuff.

Anyway, I was wearing my pirate duds, but they thought I should look a little more, well, swarthy. Insert makeup artists here. Behold the results... [warning, these pics are kinda scary -- I don't even know who this guy is, but he should certainly be locked up somewhere]

i love the new citizen's band website!

and i cant wait for the YSL ads, it seems like they are coming out later than all the other ones

So that guy posed in the pics with her? Maybe she'll be a damsel in distress walking the plank.

LOL! Hmmm I was kinda hoping she would be a pirate and make him walk the plank.

ETA: The new site rocks with the videos. Maybe that means they will put out a CD soon?

I don't think a Citizen's Band album would translate too well since they are a performance band and mainly do covers. Now a DVD would be really nice. The Citizen's Band is a band that needs to be seen.

Yeah, I agree NickiLee, a DVD makes more sense to me than a CD. What with all the melodrama and fabulous costumes, the visual and performance elements seem to be a very big part of what they do. Whatever the case, it's good to know they have been filming at least some of their shows.

I'm looking forward to the Karen/pirate pictures. If he's supposed to be the scary pirate, it is more likely that she's the damsel in distress, but on the other hand, I think Karen would look cool brandishing a sword and wearing an eyepatch. ^_^

There are a ton of recordings of theatre shows that work. Chicago, Cabaret, etc. The live showing is always better, but having a soundtrack is also a great way to relive the entertainment. You don't get the full effect but songs, covers or not, still are pleasurable to listen too. Just my opinion though :innocent:

^ Oh, there are a lot of musical theatre soundtracks that I like to listen to, so it's not that I don't think you can't derive any sort of enjoyment out of them on their own. I love them, actually. It's just that I've only listened to ones that I've either seen the show or watched a movie version of, so I guess the idea of listening to a show I've never seen before just seems odd to me. :) Eh, who knows, it's just how my brain works - I'm used to knowing what things are supposed to look like during a given song. I guess it's not necessary though, as I don't mind using my imagination while listening to normal, non-theatre music.

For one thing, I don't think they have enough original material to release an album. The majority of the songs they perform are covers. Also, each of their shows have a different theme so an album would hardly cover the full scope of their shows.
