Karen Elson

Since we recently got on the topic of whether the Citizen's Band would record an album or make a live film, I thought I should mention this quote I came upon while I was looking at the section of their web site that contains articles about them. From January 2006 Nylon magazine:

With that in mind, the band are planning to record their work, and hopefully make a film, to reach a wider audience.
So it looks like someday we may all get our way. ;) Of course that article was from a year ago, and things can change.

I've heard Karen made her album a few years ago.. Where is it? Why isn't it released til' now? :(

^ I SO want to! Somehow I really don't think it would work out though. :( I have my driver's permit, but I can't apply to get my license until February, and somehow I don't think I could talk my parents into accompanying me all the way to LA to see a cabaret troupe. They've been really stressed out because we might be moving soon.... Drat, if it was just one month later I could just go by myself! I think I'm going to go knock my head against the wall now....

Anyway, I don't want to drag this thread off-topic with my dramatics. :) So, is there anyone in LA who would be interested in seeing Ms. Karen and the Citizens Band, so they could report back here and we could live vicariously through them?

I wish they had a myspace page. I've been messaging some LA area people on the White Stripes board to persuade them to go.

I'm not sure if this one has been posted but it's from a HEKmagazine.

^ The picture seems to have come from Dior F/W 2005 show.. Thanks for posting it.

I can't decide if it's models posing a certain way and happen to look like Karen, or if it's because Karen is so versatile and changes her look easily. Probably the latter. She's a perfect model.
