REALLY unflattering skirt lengths....and the sock/shoe combinations are BAD. I really like the long top in the first post though. It reminds me of marc jacobs.
Hah Helena, I was going to say I thought Karen Walker went Marc all the way.
The last dress from #3 would be awesome if you found it as a cheap vintage piece.
Some curious details here and there, that don't disappoint... but I have to agree with helena/perlefine/droogist, that sentiment could be applied just as easily to any Marc by Marc collection.
That black dress with the high collar and swath of fabric flying away in the form of some scarf...that's lovely. Promising stuff here but I have to agree,it's a bit Jacobs-esque...
And Doc Martens-style boots? One could say that's another associatation with Jacobs-the whole grunge phase. Just please tell me they aren't making a comeback!
i liked the brown /turquise cotton lace dress at post 4 and maybe the pinafore skirt which could have been promissing if the length was longer...
apart from that nada
It is a rip-off of Marc but a good-rip off, so I may still buy it. I can't resist clothes like this. I usually pick up some Karen Walker when I'm in HK coz she's pretty big over there.
While I admit I don't see much here that I like and I do agree that the socks have to go it really bugs me the whole Marc Jacob's look-a-like comments.
I have been a fan of her for a few years now and this is her style and has been from the start. Most of you have seen Marc's collections for years because he has been showing in NY, Paris etc to the international press where as Karen has only in the last few years started showing in London before that only New Zealand and Australia. I'm sure not many of the members here pay any attention to the other fashion weeks around the world besides the 4 main ones.
She does work with stylist Heathermary Jackson who has worked with Marc in the past and maybe that's has something to do with it. So in a way I can see where your coming from but it still bugs me. I might be cause I'm not a Marc Jacobs fan.
