Technically both Joan & Karlie should be sharing the #1 spotlight, yes Karlie has garnered more blue chip work than Joan during her time but there seems to be a mutual status for both models, with Arizona they would be like the modern Linda, Naomi & Christy imo, minus in this generation models don't gain so much recognition in todays society outside of fashion (with the exception of Joan & Karlie who have their fashion skit on MTV and model luxury vehicles). Also, Joan has a contract with Lancome, so that does give her better recognition than Karlie, and they ofcourse both do work with VS. Another thing is that Joan has shared campaigns with some iconic models unlike Karlie, but Karlie has also landed major OG campaigns like Dior & ODLR.
I hope this doesn't come as offensive but IMO I only think Joan landed the #1 spot was because she has done exceptionally well as a dark skin model, following into the footsteps of Liya (I can't count Arlenis or Chanel in this one only because the work that they have done does not come close to Joans at the moment). It's funny when the industry makes such a big deal when a colored model achieves like one blue chip campaign and that instantly puts them to stardom as models.com has apparently been doing with models over some time now, I remember how high they ranked Rose Cordero after her Vogue Paris March issue back in 2010 and then she completely vanished thereafter.
Anyways, Karlie is my #1, she's been in a good assortmant of major campaigns (Chloe, D&G, Dior, ODLR, Lanvin, ETC)

Last time she walked for Prada was Fall 2009 when she was in her "death walk" period and she suited the dark collection. I'm not sure Ashley or Miuccia have any interest in casting her for the show though.
