Actress Kate Hudson and her husband, Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, are splitting, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.A rep for the You, Me and Dupree star confirms that the couple are separating after nearly six years of marriage.
Hudson, 27, and Robinson, 39, wed on New Year’s Eve 2000 after dating for about a year. Their son, Ryder Russell, was born Jan. 7, 2004.
In September 2004, while shooting Skeleton Key in New Orleans, Hudson told PEOPLE about her relationship with Robinson since Ryder’s birth: “We’re sharing something so gigantic now. I think it’s the best we’ve ever felt being together.”

I sort of saw this coming because in interviews, she always says that she doesn't know if you can be with one person forever and she just seems....like she is hiding something. I feel bad for her though and hope that they can work it out-- unless of course, they are happier apart! LOL.

this one really took me by surprise, never saw it coming! in the past couple of magazines that had Kate on the cover (Vogue, Allure, etc) they always said that he visited her on the set or she talked about how close they were. I really thought they would be the one of the few of the couples that would last.

I'm not surprised. They didn't look right together and in Hollywood, where a toenail can cause a divorce, that is a lot. Like when Mena Suvari and her 70 year old (or whatever!) husband broke up, everyone was like OMG, whereas I was hardly surprised. None of these splits surprise me. Marriage is antiquated anyway.
