Creative director Deborah Lloyd knows the Kate Spade genetics of travel, if only metaphorically. Africa, albeit loosely interpreted, was the starting point, but not the final destination for this refined collection, which juxtaposed polished separates with the label’s quirky charm, i.e., cats shown in cheetah and kitty prints.

The culotte, dubbed “the new skirt” by Lloyd, was paired with a pink cropped top and simple black leather jacket. Fabrics were kept light for the “buy-now, wear-now” sensibility, including chambray fashioned as a quilted shift dress and a bow-front blouse and track pants for a jumpsuit effect. Accessories also demonstrated ease: brogues, trainers and sturdy block-heel slides along with a new soft, snap-front satchel.
