Kathy Griffin Files for Divorce

ET has learned that comedienne and self-proclaimed "D-list" celebrity KATHY GRIFFIN has filed for divorce from her husband of four years, MATTHEW MOLINE. The papers were filed in L.A. Superior Court on September 23 and cited the ever-popular "irreconcilable differences."

The Chicago-born funnywoman married the computer consultant in February of 2001 (although the court papers cite the date as 2/14/91) and ET was there to capture the ceremony in which BROOKE SHIELDS, Kathy's "Suddenly Susan" co-star, was her maid of honor. Kathy also recently came to ET to film her adventures in cosmetic surgery and to share her story about how she might lose the sight in her right eye due to a rare condition called epithelial ingrowth, which she developed after her third LASIK surgery.

Known for her great passion for reality TV (she won "Celebrity Mole" on ABC and hosted the NBC reality series "Average Joe" as well as the MTV series "Kathy's So-Called Reality"), the former sitcom staple's most recent TV project was the "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List" reality series on Bravo, which featured Moline as himself. The couple have no children and Kathy is requesting that the court terminate its ability to award spousal support to Moline, with property rights to be determined.

Geez, I really like her show...I was hoping that her marriage would be one of those rare, 'special' hollywood marriages where it actually lasts a long period of time. And her husband is adorable, he seems so sweet on the show I can't imagine anyone not getting along with him (although, I must say that he's incredibly patient with Kathy's strong personality).

Kathy Griffin: My Ex Stole $72,000 From Me

Comedian Kathy Griffin told CNN's Larry King that her marriage to Matthew Moline fell apart after she discovered he'd stolen $72,000 from her.

In a Larry King Live interview that aired Monday night, Griffin, 45, said that Moline, a software entrepreneur, had taken the money from her bank accounts over an 18-month period.

"My ex-husband, without my knowledge, was sneaking into my wallet when I was asleep in the mornings and taking my ATM cards of my own private accounts and withdrawing money," said the star of Bravo's My Life on the D-List.

"He admitted it and apologized and ... we went to couples therapy," she continued. "I really wanted to make it work."

Griffin and Moline wed in 2001; Griffin filed for divorce in September 2005. After an attempted reconciliation, the divorce became official on May 17.

When King suggested that, given showbiz salaries, $72,000 isn't all that much, Griffin said Moline's action had tainted her feelings toward him: "Unfortunately, we (were not) able to get beyond the trust issue."

King then read a statement submitted by Moline. "Since our divorce," it said, "I have not made any public comments about my ex-wife or our marriage. It saddens me that she would choose to make such accusations at this time. I have no intention of engaging in a public debate over private matters."

Oh my gosh, I can't believe that! Matt seems like a very straight-laced kind of guy who wouldn't steal from his wife. Then again, I find it hard to believe that Kathy (who loves to go after other people for this stuff) would make up such accusations.

That's just so sad that their marriage officially ended (and that it's getting nasty)
