I had this picture taped on my wall when I was younger and for a long time..

His work made me discover yet another exciting dimension of fashion and I always looked forward to it.. he never had a single dull moment in his career and it's unfortunate we won't have the privilege to see any more contributions from him in the future... at a time when it's probably more needed than before.
^^From Vogue w/ Kirsten Dunst in Marie Antoinette garb on the cover. That's one of my favorite images from fashion. It was my avatar here for a brief moment, until I noticed somebody else uses it.
His work on the runway shows always made me wonder "How did they make that?" The technique always looked simple, but I'm sure a lot of thought went into his creations. (Thinking--is that still in fashion?)
Of note, I notice his work always uses rather cheap materials. Like the image above: probably created using a discarded piece of fabric, and about $30 worth of random crap from a craft store. And there's that Chanel show, where he used paper for the headpieces. And this creation for Haider: just hairspray & ribbon, and a whole lotta creativity. RIP, indeed.
