You know what's stupid and disappointing? People that can't be bothered to fact check. That guy her boyfriend "hit" with his car had climbed on to the hood of their car. The guy and his friends had been harassing Kaya inside a McDonald's, followed she and her boyfriend outside, and then leapt on the car as they tried to leave. They didn't leave him lying there cold-blooded. Her boyfriend sped off because he was, presumably, scared. As I think most people would be after some nutter JUMPS ON THEIR CAR. He turned himself into the police shortly after. The British courts found her boyfriend acted in self-defense, but, hey, what do they know?
That's Elliott's version, which the courts believed (and Kaya was the main witness on the case... wonder how biased she is? The McDonald's employee said no fight/altercation took place inside). The guy who was hit said he asked to borrow a cell phone outside and when Elliott said no, he stood in front of the car (not on top), not believing that Elliott would actually run him down. They left this guy bleeding out of his head on the side of the road without calling anyone. It's not like he was running around holding a gun or a knife and posing a significant danger. And even if they were scared of the consequences, they couldn't call an ambulance while they drove off in the safety of their car?
If this guy had had a hematoma in his brain as a result of the injury, it may have been too late by the time Elliott turned himself in. And this is precisely why people are angry and why he got punched. A lot of people think he only got slapped with a fine/points and that his story was believed because he is a celebrity. It's like Lindsay Lohan all over again.
Bottomline: it's a hit and run. Even if the hit was an accident, the run is the crime. And that's why people are angry.
