Kendall Jenner - posting requires reading thread rules, see post #1

It's good to see her backstage with Gigi and not just standing on her own. The more gossip comes out about who's bullying who backstage the more I wonder how grueling it actually must be for her to be backstage wondering what others are thinking or saying about her.

She's a big girl and it's not that serious. If she and her siblings would start worrying about what people say about them they wouldn't get out of bed in the morning.

Haha, you make a good point. Not saying she's going home crying herself to sleep or anything, she's a young adult she's not like fifteen, it just doesn't make for a good professional environment--it's one thing for her family life and the show or whatever but I'd rather it not be a feature of her modeling career, or of how other models/people in the industry act when she's around or mentioned.

Kendall has really entered her modelling prime. That red couple pages ago was absolutely stunning. And to think that there's so much more margin and potential left in so many departments of her modelling... she could easily be the next stratosphere fashion was waiting for.

Uh yeah it does when your last name is Jenner and you are the sister of Kim. Kim, who is married to Kayne, sitting next to Anna Wintour and Beyonce.
Without her last name, no one would know her because she would be a regular pretty girl. She has millions of followers because of her name. Her name sells the magazines and product she advertise for, not her skills. As long as the Kardashians are hot, she keeps getting booked and will selling.

I can stand her better as runway model though.

Well said :flower:

The backstage pictures are so cute, all three ladies are gorgeous. Wouldn't surprise me that she might be bullied backstage. Its just jealousy and pettiness.

100% disagree. As I previously posted, name recognition gets you in the door, but if the powers that be don't see the potential? She would have only lasted one season as the novelty the blogosphere were so praying for. She's having the last laugh, and I love it!

In the near future probably 50% of the models will be modeling because of their background & they will all claim that they have to work even harder to score covers/campaigns/eds/runway because of their names / connections ..LOL

So true!!
one example, vlada roslyakova, she has been a model for many years and she is gorgeous, yet she never ever had this exposure like Kendall has had.....its all about the name

^ She really shouldn't have been cast for Marc Jacobs -- all the other girls had an otherworldy look, then came ordinary looking Kendall

There have always been socialite models here and there - Penelope Tree, Honor Fraser, Sophie Dahl, more recently Edie Campbell, Cara and Poppy, Gigi Hadid and Kendall. It works because the girls have grown up in the world of money and fashion and the designers and clients think they are fabulous. They will always be a part of the modeling world, but never enough of them with the physical requirements to take over all the modeling jobs.

Everyone from all walks in life benefits from nepotism. Kendall and all models with well connected family names are only doing what we all would do: take advantage of opportunities given to them.

Ordinarily looking? I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but ordinary looking...wow, I have no words.

^ Nobody is saying she isn't beautiful, cause she is... but her beauty is totally ordinary and generic, way more appropriate for Sears than Marc Jacobs, cause there's no edge at all. Kendall looks just like one of my classmates and the girl living 3 blocks down from my house (VERY similar face-wise to my neighbor, I need to pap her ). No matter how much they try to make her look otherworldly, Kendall was born "just pretty", no "je ne sais quoi" factor at all, that's just a fact everywhere.

In comparison to the rest of the models [with the exception of a few others] who were able to completely transform in the hair and makeup. Yes, ordinary. Beautiful, but commercially so.

I wonder if she was not a sibling of the much disliked (will never understand the vitriol) Kardashian clan, if she would have been treated differently. Methinks so.

I would have killed to look that "ordinary" when I was her age!

If that were the case, she would be completely unknown to the fashion crowd who is talking about her right now... that's another fact, everywhere.

Absolutely. She'd be doing some local modeling maybe but that would probably be it, so let's not go down that road :D And if it wasn't for her name, no online newspaper would be doing numerous stories of her being bullied based on some comments on instagram.

This is exactly what I think. Although I can't really blame her for capitalizing on having good connections; and she doesn't seem full of it, unlike other members from that family.

I respectfully disagree. I wasn't a fan of her modeling work until the past couple of months when she started to come into her own and to me, she is absolutely mesmerizing, especially on the runway. Even if she didn't have it when she was first modeling, she has that "je ne sais quoi" for me now. I look forward to seeing her on more runways during the upcoming weeks. She is one of the only newer faces on the runways right now that catches my eye but still fits the mood and look of each show.

I also don't see the point in the hypotheticals, imagining a world in which her family was not famous. Based her performance in real life, I think she is well suited to being a model.

This has been one of her best NY seasons ever, which I'm sure had a lot to do with getting the Wintour/Lagerfeld/Estee trifecta blessing.

She played better in Europe before this and I have a feeling, she'll do even better this time around.
