Kim Noorda

Interestingly I think she looks her best in the JPG pictures. I think Kim is crazy beautiful, but I don't think she has mastered her face. She looks good of course, but she doesn't look amazing and she can. The reason I bring this up is because I think she is a prime candidate for a beauty contract and she needs to show that more.

I know exactly what you mean agee
I think at Oscar De La Renta she looked the best I've ever seen her.

I agree wholeheartedly about her being a great candidate for a beauty contract. I thought that the first time I laid eyes on her

Is that the one with the braid? I agree that she looks great, but that is an example of where it's definitely a good/great picture, but for whatever reason it falls short of being amazing, IMO. I wonder if she is one of those models who needs a bit more direction. In most cases, it seems like it is a matter of a slight angling of her face or minor change in her expression.

I'm really confused by you, agee. You say she's crazy beautiful but then you say "... is an example of where it's definitely a good/great picture." It just sounds like a contradiction... or maybe I'm misunderstanding you?

What I am saying is that she is very beautiful, but to capitalize on that beauty you have to bring something extra to the table like the ability to emote and angle your face properly. It is not rocket science, but you can't just show up, sit in a makeup chair for a few minutes and then go to the set and face the camera. I think Kim has the beauty but she seems to be lacking a couple of skills. However, by no means do I think it is a hopeless case, I just think she probably needs to get outside coaching, in addition to whatever on-the-job coaching she receives, and then practice.

Do you work in the fashion/modeling business? Just curious.

Do you know Kim [personally]? I ask not because I have a problem with constructive criticism [which I don't]... I guess I'm trying hard not to take what you're saying as an offense to Kim. Such as, "you can't just show up, sit in a makeup chair for a few minutes and then go to the set and face the camera." Maybe I'm misinterpreting you but it sounds like you're saying Kim's a lazy model. Please correct me if I'm thinking of this all wrong. Anyways, I honestly feel Kim could excel in a major beauty campaign. Like I said before, she's always had the goods as far as I'm concerned. But maybe she just needs someone to bring out those greater qualities we all know she has in her... just a thought.

Also, I don't pretend to know a lot about this business but I am eager to learn more. So if I come off pushy or whatever, please don't be upset. I seek understanding is all :)

My comment "you can't just show up, sit in a makeup chair for a few minutes and then go to the set and face the camera," was not directed at Kim personally because I do not know her and what she does on set, it was more directed at your comment (but not in a snarky way) about my comment that she is crazy-beautiful. I am just stating that being beautiful is a big piece but there is more to it than just being the most beautiful girl on the scene.

I don't post much in this thread, but when I have it has been to state my wish for her to get a beauty campaign / contract, so I am rooting for her in a big way. To me, there just seems to be something lacking there and I don't say that to slam on her, rather it's the opposite, I want her to step it up and hopefully it will take her to the next level (not that she is doing that shabbily).

I have to say I'm not agreeing at all with this latest conversation. It's true I guess that she could be less reserved and emote a bit more, but I like the subtlety that Kim has; she doesn't need to be like anyone else. To me, she's drop dead gorgeous and for a girl as experienced in modeling as Kim is, I suspect that mastering her face is not something she has yet to learn. Her candids and backstage shots can look slightly different-- I'd say it's to do with shyness and being caught a little off guard/unprepared-- but I just can't look at pictures like this and think she's somehow below her potential. She has remarkable poise IMO.
